When a white lie goes too far… Come see Dave live on October 16th at 7pm, at the Grindstone Studio, with Marito Lopez, a part of the Grindstone Comedy Series! Dave Merheje is considered to be one of the most original standup voices on the comedy scene today. Dave had his first comedy special air in Australia on ABC2. His second special “Good Friend Bad Grammar” won the 2019 Juno Award for Comedy Album of the year. His third special “Beautifully Manic,” can be seen on Netflix as part of Comedians of the World, and his fourth special titled “I Love You Habibi” is streaming on AppleTV and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. Dave’s latest special ‘Dawud’ was recently nominated for a 2026 Juno and is available on YouTube. 📍Grindstone Studio, 9562 82 Ave NW 🎟️GrindstoneTheatre.ca/tickets

One my all-time favourite highlights of the @grindstonecomedyfest, put on by the amazing @grindstonetheatre, was being able to photograph the insanely talented and extra funny @dakota_raymond, while everyone literally laughed themselves off their chairs! I’m so grateful that I am able to call photography my full time gig; plus, dude’s and lady dude’s… I get to laugh from the moment I start working, until the moment I leave for the night. Maybe it is true… you’ll never work a day in your life, when you love what you do, and I LOVE THIS sH!t…. A LOT! Thanks to each and every comic and performer who I’ve been able to shoot; you’re the stuff dreams are made of! Let’s do it again soon! 👊🏻 🙌🏻

Our relationship with @grindstonecomedyfest began with our love for @kathleen_mcgee- a legacy we strive to carry forward. With the Kathleen McGee I'll Do It Myself Award, we honour artists who work hard and champion their local community, just like Kathleen. 💜 Our winners this year are @dakota_raymond and @iblikeabauce - two incredible people we're honoured to celebrate! Award presented by @allison.dore and @byrontrevormartin

Grindstone comedy festival 2026. Needed a week to recover. 6 venues, 40 shows, 100+ performers. 0.5 tornados. I didn’t do a good job of capturing it but here are some highlights

Summer weather’s been a bit of a wildcard this year ⛈️🌪️ But before we write it off, let’s appreciate how the heavy grey days make the warm memories shine a bit brighter 🥹 Here’s the unofficial soundtrack of the season, courtesy of @blackbyrdmyoozik 🎶
