As I write this it is hard not to tear up thinking about all the kids here. Every year I commit to this because I know how important it is to @traveljason @whetfoundation @mayleighjayne . While you think, hey let me do some good in the world, you feel like a piece of your heart is left behind. I didn’t grow up rich, or with a lot of things, but I was also never hungry and always had the basics I needed in life. I have been blessed in this life in so many ways so being a part of this small yet big moment means everything. 🫶🏼

I personally connected with this young girl named T and at the age of 13 when life should be carefree, she was worried about crime, other kids her age not thinking she was pretty, and so many other things that when we talked I tried to give her as much comfort as I could. It broke me to tears after , when she said I was her favorite person she has met because no one has asked anything about her ever. Held it together to stay strong for her but I am still thinking of her today.
