POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After a week home I’ve finally caught up on emails, messages, pushed an insane amount of orders out the door, and have a few minutes to summarize what a great time was had at @cookiefestcanada

How lucky am I to work in an industry that hosts such fun events like this? I mean when’s the last time you heard of “accountant fest”? Never. Cookie Fest? Hell ya!

Getting to spend a few days surrounded by people who understand the late nights, endless icing colours, ridiculous amount of supplies and all the work that goes into turning “just a cookie” into something special was pretty incredible.

My suitcase home was not only filled with fun new packaging, tools, cutters and colours, but also laden with ideas and inspo that I cannot wait to bring to life.

Thank you to all the hardworking ladies (yes there were a few guys who joined, but let’s be real us women rule the cookie world 💪🏼) for all of the planning, organizing, teaching and speeches. Your time and effort is truly appreciated.

See you all in Calgary next year!! 🏔️🤠

Full transparency: As someone who struggles with social anxiety, stepping into a room with hundreds of people at CookieFest Canada 2026 had my stomach in knots. 🫣 I almost talked myself out of going! But the second I walked through the doors, every ounce of nervousness vanished. The cookie community is hands-down the most welcoming, warm, and supportive group of humans on the planet. Zero judgment, zero gatekeeping—just instant friends who love the same creative stuff you do!

For this Fun Fact Friday, I’m lifting the curtain and sharing a full VIP recap of everything I got up to last weekend at CookieFest! 🇨🇦✨

Here’s the behind-the-scenes reality behind professional decorating:

💡 Objection: “I’ll feel out of place if I’m not an extrovert or a pro.”
The Reality: You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room or have years of experience. Everyone starts somewhere, and the atmosphere is built on encouragement and sharing the love of the craft.

💡 Objection: “It takes secret, complex equipment to get pro results.”
The Reality: You don’t need a commercial kitchen! At CookieFest, the focus was all about mastering core fundamentals—icing consistencies, pressure control, and smart, accessible tools like custom 3D-printed cutters that level up your designs right at your kitchen table.

💡 Objection: “Pro designs are way too hard for beginners to learn.”
The Reality: Every intricate set is just a series of basic techniques stacked together! Watching master instructors break down flooding, shading, and detail work proved that once you learn the baseline steps, anyone can create showstopping treats.

The Transformation:
When you see the step-by-step reality (and the heart) behind cookie art, the anxiety and mystery vanish! You go from feeling intimidated by fancy Instagram posts to feeling inspired, welcomed, and empowered to pick up a piping bag yourself.

I’m already counting down the days and looking forward to CookieFest 2027 in Calgary next year! 🏔️✨
