KAITO REPORT.6 夏休み、ずっと心待ちにしていた夜。 2026.8.13(Thu) Billboard Live Tokyo 「The RH Factor reunion tribute to Roy Hargrove」 10年ぶりの来日。 A night I had been looking forward to all summer. August 13, 2026 (Thu) Billboard Live Tokyo — The RH Factor Reunion, a Tribute to Roy Hargrove Their first visit to Japan in 10 years. The last time they came to Japan, I was still carrying a school backpack. Naturally, I had never experienced their music live, so the anticipation leading up to this day was beyond words. My first encounter with them was their 2003 masterpiece Hard Groove. Drawn in by its striking album cover, it has remained a special album for me ever since. And then came the live show. Every single note instantly transformed the atmosphere in the room. The DNA of the genius that was Roy Hargrove was there, transcending time and filling the room with overwhelming intensity. Breaking beyond the boundaries of genre, their sound was soulful yet endlessly groovy, completely elevating the Billboard space into another dimension. The musical impulse passed down from one generation to the next, and the overwhelming power of a truly authentic culture. It was the perfect summer night, with my heart deeply moved from beginning to end. Kaito Kudo / Domestic Sales Planning

Diggin-n-daKrates With the 2026 Detroit Jazz Festival almost here, I found myself Diggin-n-daKrates and going back to 2016 at the Carhartt Amphitheater Stage. Roy Hargrove Quintet with Strings. Man… what a set. Smooth, powerful, and just good jazz. I really enjoyed this one. I only caught a handful of frames before my camera battery gave out. Looking back, I wish I had caught more before the battery dipped. But even a few frames bring me right back, you know? That’s the blessing. 🎺📸 #DigginNDaKrates #RoyHargrove #DetroitJazzFestival #DetroitJazz #JazzPhotography #JazzLover #LiveJazz #DetroitMusic #DetroitCulture #ThroughMyLens

🎷 We couldn’t let today go by without wishing one of the great musicians, educators and composers of our time — Bobby Watson — a happy and joyous 73 🥳 Watson rose to prominence as musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers in the late 1970s and early 1980s, helping shape the sound of modern jazz while mentoring a generation of young musicians. After leaving the Messengers, he formed Horizon, and continues to carry the “message” forward... It was in 1988 that Bobby took a teenage Roy Hargrove under his wing, who made his recording debut on the album ‘No Question About It’ and performed with Horizon at the 1988 Mt. Fuji Jazz Festival: @bobby.watson.4 - alto sax @groveydean - trumpet @bennygreenofficial - piano Curtis Lundy - bass Victor Lewis - drums
