POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

👑 KNOW YOUR WORTH: Your Money. Your Choices. Your Future. 💰💕

Today our Dunamis Queens had the opportunity to learn financial literacy in a way they could actually experience!

Our October Guest Facilitator, Enuka Joseph, led the girls through a hands on budgeting challenge where they were given careers, income, expenses, and real life responsibilities and had to figure out how to make their money WORK. Then came the surprise… LIFE HAPPENS! 😩😂

Unexpected expenses meant budgets had to change, priorities had to shift, and decisions had to be made.

And THAT was the lesson.

Financial literacy isn’t simply about how much money you make. It’s understanding how to SPEND, SAVE, GIVE & GROW what comes into your hands.

But I especially loved that today’s lesson went beyond money.

The girls were challenged to think about self worth, boundaries, modesty, confidence, standards, and the decisions they are making TODAY for the women they are becoming tomorrow.

This is what we mean when we say Power. Poise. Purpose. 👑

A HUGE thank you to Enuka Joseph and the Grow Girl Grow Boy Foundation for investing your time, wisdom, resources, and heart into our young ladies today.

We don’t just want our Queens to dream about their futures. We want to give them the practical tools to BUILD them.

Because our girls are already building their future, one decision at a time. 💕👑

I had the opportunity to speak to an amazing group of young women from the Dunamis Beauty Queen Cohort 💕

We had real conversations about self-love — not just the surface level kind, but the kind that starts with knowing who you are in Christ. Because when you understand how Jesus loves you, it changes everything about how you love yourself.

I shared my journey… from being a teen mom, to dropping out of college, to experiencing an abusive environment — and how God still restored me and rewrote my story.

Their energy, their openness, their presence… it was everything. Moments like this remind me that my story has purpose beyond me.

This wasn’t just a talk — it was impact.

To every young woman in that room: you are worthy, you are chosen, and your story is still being written ✨

It was such an amazing experience, and I’m truly grateful to have been nominated for She’s Doing It.

I lead with my heart and passion, and that’s what pushed me to start my nonprofit—to give back to my community in a real way. I remember learning about financial literacy as an adult and thinking, “I wish I knew this sooner.”

That moment stayed with me… and now, it’s a problem I’m committed to solving.

The Grow Girl Grow Boy Foundation is dedicated to empowering underserved communities through financial literacy, life skills, and entrepreneurship—so the next generation is equipped earlier and better.

If you feel called to be a part of this mission, send me a DM 🤍

Thank you to Rebecca @unibeautify for nominating me, and thank you to iHeartRadio and @stichiz for this recognition and opportunity ✨

“My on-stage question reflected exactly who I am — someone who empowers the youth to understand that they are not victims of their circumstances. They have the power to choose a better tomorrow, just as I did and continue to do every single day.

Before I ever wore a crown, I already carried one in my heart — this moment is simply the physical evidence of the inner work, resilience, and purpose that have always been within me.

I am so grateful for all the love, the kind words, and the unwavering support. I am beyond proud of my performance — the elegance, the poise, and the determination that I brought to that stage were all reflections of my purpose in action.”

Today I stepped into the classroom to bring financial literacy to life 🙌🏽💡 Through my nonprofit Grow Girl Grow Boy, I created a hands-on game called Budgeting 3-D. Each student got a career, a salary, and beans as their “money” — then had to budget, pay bills, and make real-life choices.

The goal? To show our youth that financial decisions matter, and with the right tools, they can build a brighter future. 🌟💵

Proud teacher moment 💕 Let’s just say they did AMAZING! 👏🏽

“Ever wondered what real-life budgeting feels like? In my new game Budgeting in 3-D, students take on careers, earn beans as salaries, and make tough choices about needs vs. wants, expenses, and financial survival. It’s a hands-on way to learn how adulting really works!”
