Support from family is always appreciated. While Mina can't plant the seeds herself, she certainly makes sure to help out.

“When a friend asked you out for ice cream... you go with them”

This morning it was -18° C out -25 C with windchill and we went out to have ice cream for breakfast. This may seem absurd to most but it’s not just about the ice cream. It’s about friends supporting friends, local businesses, supporting local businesses and, sorry not sorry, it’s about the ice cream!

@mallardsmilkbar in Arnprior, has not only the best ice cream I've ever tastes, but gives the best experience around. They’re the kind of ice cream shop where joyfull experiences are made, and we proudly support our friends, Sean and Chantel. -especially is they keep hosting events like this where we can eat ice cream while watching Saturday morning cartoons and visiting with friends. Yep, this is how adults do these days.

Pictured here is me and Lukas from @hygge.carpentry pointing out our coveted “Ice Cream Social Club” spoons in prime location for all to see.

Looking for a crowd-pleasing holiday appetizer?

These Sweet & Savory Cheese Balls combine soft goat cheese, cream cheese, honey, and cinnamon with crunchy pecans and tart cranberries for a perfect balance of flavors.

Finished with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and a drizzle of local honey, these little bites are as eye-catching as they are delicious.

Serve them with crackers, crostini, or even pretzel sticks—they’re sure to be a hit!

And while they’re more of an indulgence than a nutritious offering, sometimes a well-made treat is part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

Save this recipe for your next gathering and tag me if you try it out!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mix 300g of soft goat cheese, with 200g of cream cheese, with 2 tbsp of honey - I used local Forager Bee! - and 2 tsp of ground cinnamon in a bowl until well combined.

Fold in 3/4 cup of diced pecans into the bowl mixture to combine and set aside while you prepare the outer layer for dredging.

In a food processor, gently pulse an additional 3/4 cup of pecans, followed by a cup of dried cranberries, followed by a 1/2 cup of fresh minced parsley.

Roll the cheese and pecan mixture into small balls and then dredge them through your bowl of parsley, dried cranberries, and more diced pecans.

Refrigerate for at least half an hour to firm them up before drizzling with extra honey as garnish.

Arnprior, what a howl that was. Hundreds of you about, possibly even a thousand but we didn’t count, wish we snapped more pics in the flurry of it all. The wicked witch of the west even graced us with her presence and blew through for a brief moment ❄️. We had a blast though and it was so lovely to see all our brothers & sisters of the moon out and about strutting their stuff. All the kiddos were absolutely adorbs. Huge thanks to the head witch, our supreme @nailwitch76 and her coven for organizing such a wonderful event. We were honoured to be able to be a part of The Arnprior Witch Walk this year. 🖤

A rare moment to relax amidst the rush of fall harvest. But when @grown.gathered invited us to a post market garden party, complete with flower cocktails and a bouquet bar we definitely go! After touring their gardens and seeing some of the infrastructure and processes though we both looked at each other agreed that we don’t have time for any of that! Boy oh boy there’s a lot of work involved in flowers. We’ve tried in the past to get some going at our farm but they are usually the last priority and this year we ended up watching many sprouted seed trays die a slow dusty death. We pretty much confirmed to ourselves that we’ll stick to our usual spring peonies, that’s it that’s all, and leave the rest to the pro’s like our pals @grown.gathered 🌼🍹

This week we had some abundance and it was super rewarding to run around sharing joy with the world. After a quick stop to @hospice_renfrew_community we visited @blackbird_cafe_on @inabind.renfrew and @thejuicebox.renfrew to celebrate some hard working women!

Huge shoutout @grown.gathered for creating such beautiful bouquets and arrangements. You are an amazing creative force and I wish you could see first hand all the joy that you create in our community ❤️

While Matthew is away at market, I decided to take a trip up to see our farm friends over at Burnstown market (on til 6pm). Lots of goodies over there. I especially appreciate the ‘free the feet friday’ idea our buds @grown.gathered are sporting cause we know nothing feels better than sore feet on soft grass. Meanwhile all Matthew is showing off over in White Lake is some bum dimples. Pull up yer pants there eh bud! 🤣👩‍🌾
