Protect your mind from the traps of music, junk food, and cheap dopamine.

Music controls your emotions and pulls you away from reality, while endless scrolling destroys your willpower.

If you want to master your self (Nafs), you must start by fixing what you consume, both digitally and physically.

Junk food causes brain inflammation, weakening your ability to make rational decisions and giving your Nafs the upper hand.

Seek help through Dua. Man is inherently weak, but through Allah, we find the spiritual strength to conquer our base desires and stay focused.

Incorporate the Sunnah of fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. Fasting puts your brain in “Survival Mode.”

This mode clears out old, damaged cells and forces you to gain control over your hunger—and by extension, your emotions.

Control your tongue. Avoiding useless arguments keeps your Cortisol levels low and preserves your mental energy for your actual goals.

Lower your gaze. What your eyes see, your brain processes. If you feed it filth—on a screen or in real life—your thoughts will follow.

Hyper-stimulation destroys your sense of peace. Instead, activate your Prefrontal Cortex by setting clear, high-level goals.

An empty mind is a playground for the Nafs. Choose the wisdom of the Quran over the distractions of Netflix to rewire your brain.

Finally, serve others. Helping people kills the “Ego” (the Nafs’s fuel) and releases Oxytocin—the source of true, lasting peace.

I have recorded a 35-minute free guide on how to identify and master the traps of your Nafs.
