Van Gogh's Dog
Written by Georgia Larson

Published by Penguin Random House @penguinrandomhouse

We love love love this book in our house! So much so that we've borrowed it from the library 4 times and I've just bought our own copy too because it is one we just keep coming back to!

We all love it for different reasons - the 4-year-old laughs himself silly at the dog's antics and the 6-year-old loves the colours and the story bringing to life an artist she's studied in school. For me, it's a selection of things: I've always thought that art and the history of art is an essential part of education and, for me, is something that makes life worth living. I love museums and galleries and have grown up steeped in beauty, often spending hours soaking in a piece of art. (This was, of course, in my life pre-having-kids, but I want to instil some of that appreciation in them too🤣)
Books like these, which allow the art to spill over the frame and bring it to life in an accessible, engaging way are absolutely worth their weight in gold! Creative, fun and stunning to look at - what more could you ask for?

Belated birthday wishes to my lovely and talented daughter @grrrrace1 who this year on my own birthday gave me the most incredible present - a jigsaw of my life. It’s packed with little details that won’t mean much to people other than friends and family, but to me it means everything. Pulls off the difficult trick of making a very random life look like it means something. Can’t thank her enough. ❤️❤️❤️🎈🎈🎈🎈🎉🎉🎉🔥😊🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈

From last week 🧡 My piece for “Passages”, as big as my desk! Second and third slides for scale.

‘Guasare’
Soft pastels and colour pencils on paper
59.4 x 110cm

Inspired loosely on Las Ánimas de Guasare, a popular legend from Venezuela honouring the victims of a devastating drought in 1912. May those who wonder and get lost always gain safe passage, always find the light.

Organising and exhibiting in Passages was one of the most wonderful things I had the fortune of doing this year. I’ll never tire of thanking everyone for coming to visit ✨ Thank you thank you!

Holy moly Passages was so beautiful and I’m so sad its over. Thank you so much to @mariannamadriz for organising and asking me to contribute to this lovely lovely show at @the_gallery_at_the_playroom_ . I had so much fun at the private view, the set up, manning the gallery, and meeting all the incredibly talented artists. Thank you to everyone that came along to see it, I love you all! When the world is so bleak is there anything better than art with pals old and new?
Sorry if I missed/didn't tag anyone!
