Photos taken 6 years ago, on a canoe camping trip around Lake Tahoe. This was a special trip in a several ways, first it was in the middle of covid, the lake was empty, we were celebrating Blum, the weather window was great, and lastly it was right where we all needed to be. I got a call right after we launched into the water, my brother was in ICU on life support. We all decided to keep going, being completely immersed by nature, surrounded by people who cared about me was right where I needed to be. We camped under the stars, woke up to Tony shouting “AMERICA”, we had coffee at the “Tea House” in emerald bay, and we paddled to the Tahoe Keys where I got picked up and began the trip back east. The following year Summer and I loaded up a canoe and completed the rest of the lake. I hold this place and all the people there so near and dear. And I know Kyle is always with me on all of my adventures, forever. 🩵

2025: the camera roll. After scrolling through the full year of photos it’s pretty much all Christy, Lu, and Daisy. And that’s ok. 2025 was a good one and getting ready to make 2026 even better.

One of many great days with this crew this year. The mountains said no to our objectives, but we made an awesome day happen anyways. We’ll be back here for sure. What a cool zone!

Tuesday Funday multi-sport action. 😊 After putting some new tears in my knees a week ago, I did a little test run Ski/PCHS/Two-Wheeling, and discovered that yep, they hurt and and are way too lax, but also yep, I can still pretty much do it. March is my favorite month in #Tahoe because it has provided many of my favorite deep ❄️ days over the years. However, when the late winter skies don’t unleash seasonally appropriate bounties, the back-up option —morning corn and groomers, followed (or sometimes fully replaced) by tacky brown pow— ain’t a bad second choice. And of course, it’s all done best with a great group of flowy, fun-loving, heavy-snacking, hacky-sacking, gravity-leaning, sun-screening, good vibes-chasing, hoot-embracing, naturally fascinated and partly vaccinated individuals. There may be an MRI in my future, but it’s good to know I can hold up while I assess the situation.
