August artwork of the month: A monumental presence.

Suspended in the Cube Gallery of the Robert Olnick Pavilion, Germoglio by Remo Salvadori is part of our tribute to the recently departed artist and invites us into a world where simplicity holds infinite complexity.

At first glance, the monumental white canvas appears almost minimal: intersecting circles slowly reveal a form reminiscent of a germoglio—a sprout, a symbol of emergence and growth. But look closer. Real gold leaf catches the light, creating texture, depth, and dimension within the work’s intrinsic yet deceptively simple design.

And beneath its quiet geometry lies another layer of discovery: proportions that subtly evoke the harmony of the Golden Ratio.

Some works demand to be seen in person. To move around them. To watch the light change. To discover what reveals itself only with time and attention.

Come experience Germoglio and our tribute to Remo Salvadori at Magazzino Italian Art.

~ Midsummer mineral news: we are honored to announce the release of Mike Adcock’s album *Playing Bluestone* on August 1st.

This is a minimalist music project created to showcase the timbre of the musical stones used at Stonehenge, which were discovered to originate from the Preseli Hills in Wales.

The album will be released digitally for free, with a limited run of 100 CDs, while an art edition on lathe-cut vinyl will be released in September.

The cover art has been created by Greg Slick (http://www.gregslick.com/)

Further information and the video created for one of the album's tracks will follow over the weekend ~

Thanks to everyone who joined us for yesterday's Artist Talk with Ann Provan, Greg Slick, and Stephen Westfall. We loved spending the afternoon in conversation about their work and creative practices. A special thank you to these three artists for sharing their time, perspectives, and inspiring stories, and to everyone who made it such a thoughtful and engaging event.

If you missed it, there's still one more opportunity to join us this season. Our final Artist Talk, featuring Marieken Cochius, takes place Sunday, July 26 at 2pm. We hope to see you there!
