Subject: Prioritizing Family Time & Using Your PTO

Team,

As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to emphasize something that matters deeply—to me and to our culture: taking care of yourself and your family.

Our work is important, but so is rest, connection, and time away to recharge. I strongly encourage each of you to use all of your available PTO and avoid rolling time over whenever possible. PTO exists for a reason—to support your well-being, prevent burnout, and allow you to show up as your best self both at work and at home.

Please be intentional about planning time off, whether that’s for family, travel, personal goals, or simply rest. If you need support aligning schedules, coverage, or planning your time away, let’s talk early so we can make it work smoothly for everyone.

Taking time off is not a sign of disengagement—it’s a sign of healthy leadership. I want you rested, present with your loved ones, and ready for what’s ahead.

Thank you for everything you do, and I truly hope you make the most of your time away.

Best,
Dahveed Smith

Subject: Let’s Connect Outside of Work

Hey team,

Just a quick note — I’d love for us to keep finding ways to connect outside of work. Grabbing lunch, hanging out, or just catching up goes a long way in keeping our team energy strong.

We work better when we know each other beyond the job — and honestly, it just makes things more fun.

Appreciate you all!

Subject: April Reflections – Self-Care, Balance & PTO Reminder

Hi Team,

As we wrap up the month of April, I want to take a moment to recognize all the great work you’ve been doing and to express my appreciation for your continued commitment and focus. This past month has been busy, and I know it can sometimes be easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle.

That’s why I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of self-care and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Whether it’s taking a proper lunch break, logging off on time, or using your PTO, it’s crucial to make time for yourselves to recharge and stay well—both physically and mentally.

Speaking of PTO, please take a moment to review your upcoming schedules and submit any planned time off as early as possible. This helps us plan better as a team and ensures everyone can get the rest they need without added stress.

Thank you again for everything you do. Let’s keep supporting one another in creating a healthy, balanced, and sustainable work culture.

Best,

Dahveed
