Rebuild phase starts today! 🚵🏻‍♀️☀️
A busy work week, two weeks on school camp, then two weeks of being too sick and/or tired to ride has added up to 5 weeks off the bike. 😞
.
Keen to get back some form and enjoy some “time on bike”. A bit frustrating missing Marathon Nationals, XCO State Champs and Sea Otter but looking forward to a summer of riding and racing!

The Noosa Triathlon is right around the corner! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃 With race day coming up, now’s a good time to get your nutrition plan sorted. A few things to keep in mind:

• Fuel early and often: Don’t wait until you’re running low on energy to start fuelling.
• Stay hydrated: Sip fluids regularly throughout the race.
• Plan your bike nutrition: Keep gels, chews and bottles somewhere easy to reach.
• Keep it familiar: Race day isn’t the time to try something new.
• Practise your fuelling: Stick to a plan you’ve tested during training.

Need a hand getting your race-day nutrition sorted? Check out our Triathlon Nutrition Guide for more tips.

Annual trip to Margaret River for @capetocapemtb! Fast field this year straight off the back of gravel worlds in WA and I struggled to hold the pace. I didn’t let that stop me having a great time racing with mates and hanging out off the bike though. Until next year Margs!

I'm back!!

When I was looking to join @trekshimanoaustralia, I told @crankypetesbikeworks I'd like to have a family in the coming years. His response? "No worries."

Then when I said I'd be taking time off to have a baby, he asked if there was anything he could arrange to support me or to make riding more comfortable if I wanted to keep riding.
I couldn't be more grateful, I feel so proud and VERY lucky to ride in the team he's built. ❤️💙

A big thank you to our team's sponsors for making all of this possible. My new bikes are sooooo nice and it's such a treat to be back out pedaling in the hills, I'll share the bikes soon! 👀

National XCM Champs in conjunction with #shimano100 a couple of weeks ago was pretty tough for me but I made sure I enjoyed being out there. Was feeling pretty underdone without enough training behind me, so took it easy when I was struggling and partied on the descents!
Hopefully the race and a bit more speed work recently will have me going better for Cape to Cape and Sea Otter over the next two weeks! Good little race block and a much needed holiday from work after a very quiet winter of racing 🙌.

You might be scared of failing
Wondering what people will think?
Looking around at everyone else and questioning how successful you really are

But when you look back at your own life…

Were the easy wins really the ones that taught you the most?

Or was it the things you had to fail at, fight for, learn from and keep coming back to?

We give failure a much worse reputation than it deserves

Yiewwww! Eight weeks and one day... 🏥

First run back, and highly appropriate it was down in the Motherland on the Valley Fields of Bega.

3 x 5 min very slow jog off 1 min walk. The patient road is the best road eyhhh @illawarraphysio ??

Spine feels fine! So far anyway. Legs feel like they haven't run for three months though, for some reason.

#superblast3 was a lovely ride over the grass @asicsaustralia .

Thanks to GBob @bobporter42 for paparazzo duties 📸

And of course the shirt somehow went missing for the last "effort".

One week until I get to do the thing I’ve spent the last few months preparing for 🥹

I keep waiting for the nerves to kick in but honestly…
I’m just that bloody excited.

I wanted this.

Now there’s nothing left to do but taper, obsessively check the weather and eat 😂

@melbmara I am SO ready for you. 🏃🏼‍♀️

No XCM Nationals for me today, unfortunately. 😥Sometimes life gets in the way. It was always going to be a big ask to race today, given that I’m up at 4:30am tomorrow to lead a two week trip to Uluru and back with 72 students but I entered, because I hoped to “just do it”.
My old back injury had a mini flare up a few weeks ago and although it’s feeling almost normal again, I couldn’t really justify the risk of hurting it again in the race, because leading this school trip and being responsible for so many people would be so much more challenging if I’m not physically 100%.
A bit frustrated that I’m not out there, but…there will be other races…
