For us, culture in Guildford means making things with people who genuinely care.

Trailers, interviews, festivals, livestreams, game launches - so much of what we create starts in this town, alongside some of the most talented creative people in the industry.

Guildford shapes culture on a global scale every single day. We’re proud to be part of that story.

Spoke with the LOVELY indie dev behind Hymble Ventures while at Guildford Games! 👾

A quirky, nonsensical adventure inspired by the golden era of collectathon platformers.. packed with modern polish, heartfelt storytelling, whimsical worlds, bizarre characters, and wacky abilities.

If you miss the charm of classic platformers but want something fresh, this one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. 🎮✨

Back in February at Guildford Games Festival, we had the pleasure of showcasing our demo to you all!
(Thanks for following and checking out our progress! 💖)

During the play tests, we noticed some improvements we could make to the assets, not only to allow for better navigation but to polish up the assets too!

In the demo, both logs that the player passes through and the stump they walk across needed refining:

Aesthetically, we wanted these assets to look more splintered and jagged, as if they had been there for a long time!🪾🍂

But mechanically, we spotted players getting caught up in these areas too, and this needed fixing! 🛠️

1️⃣ For starters the log wickie crouches into was uneven on the inside, making it hard for the player to move through the space! We fixed this by remaking the log from scratch in Blender and sculpting details in Zbrush before redoing the textures in substance painter!

2️⃣ The stump that the player walks across and the log that splits in two were more straight forward! With these we reworked the edges to make them look more splintered and adjusted the walking area to help guide the player through the asset!

This is only the beginning of our updates so stay tuned for more! ✨

It's been an amazingly full couple of weeks....

Drew a complex card in 90 mins for an ex-colleague, finished a pad, started a new one, had a successful @guildford.games (but, as always came out of it thinking it'd have been nicer to not be working it, sigh), had an awesome #LondonPenShow :) and more...

I've been looking for an alt sticker company to 'that sticker company' for a while but the three I'd tried all came with too many caveats. For G.G and LPS I used @stickershopuk and they were the perfect mix of quality/speed/price. Very happy discovery.

Finally new soundtracks for the month ahead woooo with The Mountain being every bit as good as I hoped and the No Man Sky vinyl being a wonderful listen. Even got mine signed which makes it that much more joyous.

March through June likely to be hyper hectic. And then....? Hmm....

We’re so excited to share that through ticket sales, the raffle, and generous donations at the Awards Ceremony, we raised just under £10,000 at this year’s @guildford.games Festival! 🎮

This amazing total will directly support our mental health and wellbeing services across Surrey - and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who made it possible.

Our team had a brilliant time at the festival, continuing our multi-year partnership and championing wellbeing alongside Guildford’s incredible gaming industry. We had so many important conversations with local studios and individuals about mental health, community, and creating supportive workplace cultures.

A huge thank you to @liquidcrimson and everyone involved in making the festival such a success.

We’re also so grateful to the teams at:

And congratulations again to @twopointstudios on your Outstanding Studio Culture Award - we were proud to present it. 👏🏻

Made a video on my experience at the guildford.games festival 2026, as a student hoping to break into game audio as a Sound Designer.

Quite new to making videos with my own commentary and putting my face out there. But it's important that I do this and try my best to show everyone the journey I am on. Wish I had alot more pictures and videos of the event. Next time I promise! :)

Huge thanks to the organisers, volunteers and speakers of this event. Very well done and lovely venue! <3

Edit: I had to reupload this as I made the aspect ratio far too small, sorry!!
