Good performance from @gulliver86 at the weekend. Unlucky to be narrowly beaten on points after some last minute escapes from the opponent.

Some things to work on and we go again on 11th May 💪

On Monday evening I had the pleasure of attending one of the excellent @seedtalks at the @campandfurnace in #liverpool on the science of attachment styles. The motivation was partly to educate myself to inform my Family Constellations work/practice and obviously to educate myself as part of my own ongoing personal development process.

It was an incredibly insightful talk and I could fill 20 Instagram posts with the content which i'm not going to do. What I will do though is offer some key highlights here in the comments, and with the figures I use for my 1:1 Constellation work with clients, I will set up 3 scenarios in 3 seperate photos (attached). Read through the key points first and then look at each scenario one by one and reflect on the following questions -

Question 1) What is the dynamic that I (as in you) am observing in each image in relation to attachment styles?

Question 2) Did any of the 3 images reflect back and/or resonate with your own early childhood?

Question 3) Are any of the 3 images a reflection of the general situation with your own Children? If so is this related to the answer to Question 2?

Key points
*When Children are born/youngsters their natural instinct is to seek attachment/bonding to a perceived caregiver (survival instinct) - See John Bowlby's work.
*3 types of attachment styles - Secure, Anxious, and Avoidant.
*These are formed of a consequence of our early bonding/attachment experience.
*Children can bond/attach to an abuse caregiver.
*Early caregivers help regulate a Childs nervous system and emotions.
*These early experiences shape how we bond and attach with others in our Adult lives whether that be with family, friends, partners, or work colleagues.
* This sh*t is essential to know and educate ourselves on given the profoundly negative impacts it can have on one's life, with a high chance that without personal work or self awareness we can pass this on to future generations and perpetuare the unhealthy patterns.

If you would like to bring more awareness to your own patterns and break 'the chain' then DM me to set up a 15 min intro call.

Leave a comment below with your own reflections...namaste.
