Join us on Monday, July 27, 2-3pm on Not Enough Acres Farm at DCLT headquarters with our super creative summer art intern Serena Yu for an afternoon of crafting, making, snacking and great conversation. (see Serena in the second slide video painting out in our meadows to get a feel for her vibe and creativity!) Create a decorative wind chime out of repurposed materials found here on the farm while connecting with others in our beautiful flower garden with Serena who is an illustrator, designer, and all around nature-lover from Vancouver, Canada, currently studying Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. Thanks @osamequinfarm for opening up your pretty barn for us to have a little potluck last week! Was nice to welcome to new members and to learn more about each other while eating lots of good food with good company. How cool is this Murasaki plant? I grew these plants from seed from @grandprismaticseed during Covid and they grew pretty prolifically! I’ve tried using the purple roots for a dye and got a pretty light lilac and with iron some gray, but decided recently to bundle dye them whole and was so excited with the results from the roots as well as the top of the plant! #naturaldyes #murasaki

Holy smokes, an absolute murderers’ row of talent in my contemporary illustration class this spring at RISD. This marks the end of my third year and I couldn’t have asked for a better crew tackling a variety of subjects across editorial / publishing / entertainment / whatever else I threw at them.

The Visual Arts Council is super excited to present to you our long-awaited merch pre-orders! Our design is created by Serena Yu, a 2022-2023 grad. We are offering a black hoodie with designs on both the front and back. The pricing for these hoodies is 80$ each. HOWEVER, if MORE THAN 12 people order, the price will be lowered to 55$!
