2026-2027 PRE SEASON RANKINGS

With the first regional coming up this weekend our committee put together some rankings as we head into this first event. These are based on:

-2026 Nationals finish
-2026 season play
-Factoring in programs who have already played

Last season we only ranked top 20 in D1 mixed and women and top 15 for D2 mixed. This season we are excited to bring more in depth rankings that go beyond those top spots. Visit our website at collegediscgolf.com/rankings/ to view all the programs that got ranked for pre season.
As programs and teams start competing at regionals the list will shift and fill out, so keep your eyes peeled for your favorite program!

Preseason D2 Rankings!

A lot of this is subject to change. With the upcoming rules changes coming to college disc golf, I could see many of these teams making the jump to D1, so it will be interesting after the first couple of months of D2 who will be competing in D1 vs D2.

(Also was not sure about Ohio States’ roster for next year, that’s why they are not ranked)

CDG Preseason Top 24!

This is with the best info I could find about who had graduated and who is coming back for each team. I’m definitely using Nationals to help with some sorting of where to put teams, but also trying to use some of the important regional results to place them as well.

NC State always has a talented roster, and so even with them losing some seniors I have no doubts theyll be ready for next year. ESU loses Rye but has added some solid recruits, so I have high expectations for them as well. Mississippi has still got a very strong roster, and that is why they are high on my ranking in the preseason.

Auburn and Milligan lose so important seniors, that’s why they have dropped from previous rankings.

Some teams I considered that didn’t make the list
Eastern Mennonite
App State
Kansas State
Boise State
BYU

Unfortunately, there is no 24/7 sports so I am unsure of all the new Freshman that are incoming this year that will be on the rosters, but I’m sure you all will let me know in the comments who to watch out for.

Which conference was the best at nationals?

Big thanks to @mattscre_dg for collecting this data and sharing it with me. Here’s did all the work, I just made the graphic.

Here’s how it works.
Top 20 in D1 are assigned points based on finis from 20-1
Women are given points for top 10, 1st 20, 2nd 18, etc..
D2 Top 15 are given points based on finish 15-1,
D3 Top 10 are given points starting at 10.
Ties share points

The deepest conference is still the Carolina’s with the most teams placing, however I am glad to see some smaller conferences place high in this like Can-Am and Northeast. But you can see how a few teams carried their conference this year- like a Liberty or Milligan this year. What are your alls thoughts?

Your D1 Champs are Milligan University. Impressive stuff from them, the most consistent team of the weekend. While the never shot the hot round, they always gave themselves a chance to win through their putting and ability to give themselves chances.
