Meet the artists behind ZERO IS GREATER. 🎨

Their work says something personal about a cause that matters to them. Through paint, photography, sculpture and mixed media, seven artists are bringing their own perspective to the HIV and TB conversation.

Using their art to explore progress, resilience and the possibility of a future with ZERO infections, deaths or stigma.

A heart full of gratitude for an incredible day at the Zero Is Greater Exhibition at Constitution Hill.

A massive thank you to @litalelanga.betha for extending the invite to my mentor, auntie Cheryl, who then brought me along as her plus-one. It’s always an honour to learn alongside you, @charitypresident

One of my absolute highlights was meeting @jaxxofalltrades_sa . I found out she is actually a millennial and not Gen Z😭😭😭
and honestly, she makes being smart look so cool (definitely saying no to anti-intellectualism!😝🧍🏾‍♀️)

Even though I attended this event as an ambassador for @fridahartley it was a powerful reminder that the healthcare landscape is just like any other industry driven by people: it thrives entirely on collaborative work. 🫂💕
Shoutout to @hakopike for engaging me in her beautiful art when I commented on an aspect of it being “creepy”, a good thing because her message was conveyed well haha😝🩷
Ultimately, this exhibition is a beautiful reminder that the fight against HIV and destigmatisation starts with treating carriers with true dignity. Because at the end of the day, the ‘H’ in HIV stands for Human.🧍🏾‍♀️✨

Everything you want is on the other side of stepping through your cringe! Thank you to the main man @thegreatraaj for putting me on the lineup to do my very 1st 5 minutes. This time last year I would not have been brave enough. I love meeting all the comics, they are all friendly and kind and supportive . And my family and friends who ground my nervous system. What does David Lynch say "jump into the void and find that it is a fever bed"

Meet @hakopike, who created Stitches of Soulscapes for The Atlas of Uncertainty. In this interview, she talks about what drew her to the project and how she explores identity and soul-searching in South Africa through symbols such as indigenous fauna and flora.

See it at the Origins Centre, Wits University, before 3 July.
