lets be fr familia: most of us at Project Feel have day jobs. pharmacists, data analysts, content creators... we clock in so we can keep building the dream. and yeah, it gets messy sometimes (a lot of the time).

but watching something you helped create actually come to life? worth it. 💜

that’s why Project Feel exists. we’re a home for Latine indie creatives with a story to tell and no one to help them tell it. film & video production, creative direction, workshops, events: we’ve got you when you’re not sure what the next step is.

👇 tips for finding your work + life balance are waiting in the comments. drop yours too, we wanna hear how you make it work.

• put creative time on your calendar like it’s a shift. if i don’t block it off, work and errands eat it every single time. even two hours a week is something

• use your day job. whatever you do all day gives you stuff to write about, the people, the weird conversations, all of it. it counts

• finish small things. i would rather put out a one minute piece than sit on a feature script for three years

• stop trying to do everything yourself. find people to make stuff with, it’s less work and way more fun

• rest. i used to think sleeping was wasting time i could be editing and then i’d burn out and not make anything for a month. not worth it

• say no to things that drain you so you actually have energy for the stuff you care about

• and celebrate the small wins, like sending the email you’ve been avoiding. that’s progress too

anyway that’s my list. how do you guys make it work? genuinely want to know!!!

I very much felt like James Bond with the @tiltamax Focus Pull in my hands lol every take was its own special mission & this high tech gadget was the key to making it happen! Bravo everyone 👏🏼🥂🎬

P.S. Once I got super comfortable with focus pulling, I started watching the playback in Black & White…which I hope ends up as a Director’s Cut on the Special Edition 4K Criterion copy lol ;)

It’s been a LONG and winding road with DDN! If you know me, you know I like to be transparent. The festival world is tough. It’s saturated more than ever, which makes it harder for DIY, low-budget indies.

It feels nice to be recognized at @katrafilmseries because, to me, it’s reaffirming that I’m on the right path as a filmmaker. That my ideas are good. And that there’s a home for these ideas. Diane De Niro has found a home with Katra. And I couldn’t be prouder.
