GSMJI 2026 Recap.

Spent 8 days in the Smoky Mountains with an amazing group of friends. Putting 2,100 miles on Tealy between driving there, exploring the smoky mountains, & coming home. Doing something different each day while we were there, surrounded by probably easily 30,000 jeeps neat seeing everyone’s builds. By far best vacation taken.

Hopefully be back for GSMJI 2027 with some major changes to Tealy 🫣, & hopfully enter it into show & shine 🤟🏻.

So many cool Jeeps this year at @greatsmokymtnjeepinvasion! 🤩 This doesn’t even cover half of the ones I took photos and videos of.

One of my favorite things about this event is seeing everyone’s individuality. Every Jeep tells a different story, and while one build may not be your style, it’s someone else’s dream, and that’s what makes this community so fun.

Tag anyone I missed below since Instagram only lets me tag 20 people! 😅 Until next year!

Had a fabulous time over at #badlandsoffroadpark this weekend for the first #Overland “CincoDeVintago” camping event. Mets some local off road legends with amazing rig and tons of knowledge to share. The owners daughter ran point and got us through some amazing trails. Had the locker on for an obstacles. She probably scared a few of us. So worth the long day. Got to test the rig and met some great people. Paxton the media content, director and drone pilot I’m sure captured some amazing moments.#custombuilds #badlandoffroadpark #willysjeep . Man, they took care of us with ribeye steaks for dinner and a bon fire to relax and shared stories with
me choosing to camp nestled along the Wabash River in Indiana. Thank for the extra touch from owner Kyle Knosp for leaving a generator. I was able to my morning Joe.
Thanks for great time y’all.

Year in Review. This year was chaotic, to say the least. I didn’t publicize it, but I lost my job in March due to layoffs. What followed were several strong interviews that ultimately went nowhere, and by April things felt especially uncertain. It was a difficult stretch.

But as with all hard moments, you find a way to push forward and reset. In that space, I was able to do things I never would have if I’d still been working. I took a 40-day trip out west and saw places I’ll never forget. My wife even flew out for a week and joined me from Glacier through Salt Lake City—an experience I’ll always be grateful for.

Seven months later, I did find another job. Looking back, I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who supported me and helped me get through this year.
