Our new single One of a Thousand is out everywhere today. Stream it wherever you get your music!

Two years ago, Hurricane Helene hit us hard. In conversations around town, it was often said that this was a one-in-a-thousand year storm, a singular geological event. Landslides and flooding on a scale never seen before and hopefully never seen again. Still in the same breath, we all seem to agree that we have to treat this as if it’s just one of many. The start of a new chapter.

Thank you for all the streams and donations over the weekend! Y’all are the best. We hope the song can provide a bit of solace in this anniversary as well as some contemplations for the future.

Hey y’all, we have a new song to share. It's born from Hurricane Helene which tore through our town two years ago this weekend. It is available on bandcamp today (link in bio) and will be released across all digital platforms on Monday.

All proceeds from this weekend's bandcamp sales will go to these organizations. They have been essential in the immediate survival and the ongoing recovery & resilience of our area after the hurricane:

Nights like these are quite special. Meeting new friends, sharing time with incredible artists, and documenting a beautiful, intimate performance somewhere in the middle of it all.

@riverwhyless is a band whose music has closely followed my life, the things I love, and the places I’ve traveled. When I’m developing work for many of my projects, I spend a lot of time on the road with just me and this incredible dog of mine, Buddy. If we’re not sleeping outside in a tent, we’re usually tucked into some questionable little budget hotel. Not because the beautiful hotels aren’t an option, but because there are stories, strange details, and little artifacts of life hidden in those places that I’ve always been drawn to.

Those travels have taken us across the country many times, and River Whyless has been part of the soundtrack through so much of it. There’s something about their music that has always seemed to fit naturally alongside the landscapes, long drives, unfamiliar towns, and experiences I find myself moving through.

Last night was a special one. I had the opportunity to spend time with Halli and Ryan, share stories about travels, art, life, and everything in between, make some new friends, and talk about some exciting possibilities for creating work together in the future. And somewhere amidst all of that, I got to photograph a beautiful, intimate River Whyless show.

Halli and Ryan, thank you for an amazing night. I’m grateful I got to spend some time with y’all, and I’m excited for what we might create together in the future.

Great to see my buddy @gothbabemusic at the legendary @pinecreeklodge last night as he wrapped up the final stop of his folk tour!

Griff and the band sounded incredible, and hearing the songs stripped down under the rainy Montana skies made for a pretty special night.

Already scheming up our next collab adventure…

There are few people as multifaceted at Griff, and this film and acoustic tour was exemplary of just that. Griff embodies exactly what DAYBREAK was built around, and we can’t wait to show y’all what we’ve got cookin’.
