Chichén Itzá 🇲🇽 - World wonder 🌎🤯
27
Chichén Itzá … just wow.

Considered to be a Wonder of the World for its insane amount of detail to astrology within the Mayan Calendar and Toltec influence.

The engineering behind this grand temple is unfathomable today. The main pyramid has 4 staircases with 91 steps each. Add the top platform and you get 365, representing the days of the year. The Maya really built a CALENDAR into a PYRAMID. Don’t even get me started about the feather serpent shadow illusion for equinox only events… 🤯

This ancient city was considered the capital for and held around 35k at its peak.

Blessed to have such an amazing squad. Opportunities of spreading goodwill through the game of basketball? Then in turn getting to experience love from other cultures wanting to show it to us for us? All love ❤️

Here we got to experience what Mayan priests and Ball Captians for their culture game “Pitz” would look like.
Heavy Jade / precious metal infused with giant feathers. The Mayan priest even had like wings .. birds are super powerful in mythology here. 🙌

This by far was one of the coolest experiences in my life. Being around my squad in a Cenote. 🙌

Then just to learn how important these cenotes were to the ancient Yucatan people. This was there only source of freshwater. Thousands are everywhere dotted in the Yucatan peninsula… They weren’t just swimming holes. Cenotes provided drinking water, supported entire cities, and were considered sacred gateways to the underworld, known as Xibalba. The Maya made offerings to the gods, particularly Chaac, the rain god, hoping for rain and good harvests. We even got to see the Sacred Cenote in Chichén Itzá.. definitely Google that!

NOW THIS WAS COOL. Shoutout @jordan0fuchs for this one!!

Jordan and I went to the ancient Mayan site of Uxmal! We basically had the entire place to ourselves to walk around and explore. We spent 2.5 hours walking around GIANT CITY. I won’t show the whole site on this post because you gotta go check it out yourself! However, I’ll show off this Pyramid!

! This behind me was called the Pyramid of the Magician! It’s believed to actually be 5 different Omar’s with the top levels being added 100’s of years apart (5

Chichén Itzá 🇲🇽
No 5. of The Seven World Wonders which I got a chance to experience! While also getting the opportunity to visit, explore and swim in the Tsukán Cenote.

A lot of people seem to never get the opportunity to see these places they just “wonder” if it’s a myth, but I can say I am truly BLESSED 🙏🏾 to be apart of 70% of people to witness this World Wonder. I experienced PEACE, RELEASE, & CONNECTIONS with my spiritual loved ones. This is for sure one of my greatest memories I’m going to forever hold onto because not only was it a spiritual connection but it was a special moment for me. 1 down 6 more to go 😎🤍
