“Why take unnecessary risks?” - I often heard this sentence from my parents growing up. Dad was not a risk taker. He was a self made man, one of 10 siblings, one of the youngest and also the one who decided to move countries in search for something better. As I write this, I guess he did take a risk, moving countries to the UK with just a few pounds, was enough of a risk to take. (What a brave man!)

Back then I don’t remember my doctor aunties and uncles being business owners, not even really business minded to be honest. You were either a doctor or a businessman. Right? When you filled out forms on your profession I don’t think you could tick both.

These days that’s not the case. Doctors don’t get enough day to day and so many also businessmen. I say this as I look back at my years as a doctor and I too have done a lot actually. I owned a clinic business, a consultancy and now cofounded a sports academy. Not everything went to plan. You just can’t plan. But each decision evolved from the one previous.

This entrepreneurial life hits different. It’s very hard. As I take on this new challenge, this one still feels different. Challenges faced brought me to this very moment. We are two months in, an infant, but I am building relationships that I can genuinely say may last me a lifetime. U know who u r! 🫶🏽

I am growing. I am learning exponentially and the support in my corner has been indescribable. The believers have been so vocal that they have been drowning out the noise of my imposter syndrome. It’s the one time that even when things are tough, and am asking myself, what am I doing, i am simultaneously looking for yet another path to keep going forward.

There’s always a risk. But it’s one that dad would have said, I am so glad you took it. And all those who came and took it with me, I am so grateful.

The beauty about this whole thing is I couldn’t have ever planned it.

The tough feels right.
The questions feel right.
The unknown feels right.
It feels right because the intention is right.

Now to soak up the learnings and keep growing through it all.

In strength training, technicality matters most.
Ego being left at the door.
The assignment is to get the athletes stronger and to help prevent injuries, NOT create them.

We love seeing the Provn athletes coming out of their shell, asking questions, listening, learning and even helping each other. 💪🏾

Now for a weeks break.
See you all after the half term!

Here at Provn Sports Academy, every session has an age appropriate strength session built into it. It doesn’t have to be long but gains are made with consistency and timely progressions.

We aim to:-

1- teach safe gym etiquette
2- teach good movement patterns
3-identify early and iron out those muscular imbalances
4-teach not to train for fatigue but for performance
5-help reduce risk of injury

4 weeks and we seeing great progressions and movements you don’t often see kids doing. We are explaining the “why”s and answer every question.

Fridays 3-4pm we have an added Strength and conditioning only session for the kids. No matter what sport, no matter which academy, we just want to help fill in any gaps with professionals who’ve been in the business for decades.

Age 8+
