✨ $1.5+ MILLION, A RENO GROUNDBREAKING EVENT & A DAZZLING NIGHT FOR THE ARTS! ✨ A truly exhilarating weekend for the Hammerstein Museum in Bucks County— with an exciting new chapter for this important piece of American history in the arts! The celebration began Friday with the museum’s official groundbreaking, marking the start of its long-awaited renovations. The press conference brought together community leaders, supporters and members of the media to celebrate this major milestone. Then, on Sunday night, it was time to celebrate! The annual Hammerstein Museum Gala was dazzling — filled with enthusiasm, extraordinary talent and an incredible gathering of artists, arts leaders and supporters from across our region and New York. The evening honored the legendary Broadway songwriting team of lyricist Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty, with unforgettable performances by Liz Callaway and Christy Altomare — both beloved stars of Anastasia. The WOW moments wouldn’t stop as Senator Steve Santarsiero and State Representative Tim Brennan presented three checks from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania totaling more than $1.5 million in support of the museum and its future! The generosity continued as Gala guests added to the extraordinary momentum through direct donations and spirited bidding during the live auction — pushing the weekend’s support even higher. From Friday’s groundbreaking to Sunday night’s Broadway stars, major funding, standing ovations and an incredible outpouring of support, this weekend demonstrated the extraordinary power of the arts to bring people together. 🎶🎭 OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN MUSEUM 🎭🎶 "Edelweiss" from The Sound of Music 🤍 There is something especially moving about the story behind “Edelweiss.” It was the final song of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s legendary musical collaboration and contained the last lyric Oscar Hammerstein II ever wrote before his passing in August 1960. While Hammerstein typically wrote the lyrics first, “Edelweiss” came together differently. Richard Rodgers composed the melody first, and Hammerstein later gave it its unforgettable words. 🎹 Knowing that history made the opportunity to sing “Edelweiss” inside Oscar Hammerstein II’s home feel even more meaningful. To stand in a place so closely connected to his life and creative legacy, and to sing the final words he gave to musical theatre, was an honor I will always cherish. I am incredibly grateful to Marc for making this special visit possible and for sharing this moment with me. 🏆 Those who have been following my journey for some time may remember that Marc and I first met through the Hammerstein International Youth Solo Contest, where I was fortunate to be named one of the winners. It makes returning to Hammerstein’s music together, now in the very place he once called home, feel like a beautiful full-circle moment. Some experiences stay with you not because of the stage or the audience, but because of the history, people, and memories behind the music. 🤍🎶 🗓 March 25, 2026 📍 @hammersteinmuseum 🎹 Marc Sherman THE SOUND OF MUSIC | EDELWEISS | HAMMERSTEIN | MUSEUM | SINGING ©️ Alliana Lili Yang. 🎶🎭 OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN MUSEUM 🎭🎶 🏡 At first glance, it may look like an ordinary house, but it is anything but ordinary! Within these walls lives a remarkable legacy of memories, creativity, and musical history. There was something extraordinary about walking through the rooms where Oscar Hammerstein II once lived, dreamed, and created. 🎹 A heartfelt thank you to Marc for arranging this private tour and making the experience so special. Those who have followed my musical journey may already know that Hammerstein’s work holds a special connection for Marc and me. Having the opportunity to stand inside Hammerstein’s home and sing the songs he helped bring to life felt truly surreal. 🎶 Preserving music also means preserving the places, stories, and people that shaped it. As part of my own commitment to helping classical and theatrical music reach new generations, I believe it is so important to support places that keep our cultural history alive and accessible. These walls have stories to tell. How fortunate we are that someone is making sure they continue to be heard. ✨ 🗓 March 25, 2026 📍 @hammersteinmuseum 🎹 Marc Sherman MUSICAL THEATRE | TBT | HAMMERSTEIN | MUSEUM | STORYTELLING ©️ Alliana Lili Yang.
