Te Hira Pū-Ao 🌱

Recently privileged to be a part of the foundations of what will become a powerful movement for taiohi in taiao spaces empowering Mana Motuhake and recolonising Western spaces!! 👊🏼

Being able to share my skill sets in kaupapa Māori space is ever giving and fills me with soo much gratitude and pride to be able to give back and be an unapologetic Indigenous creative!! 🔥

Nothing but love for the people who bring me into these spaces, see value in what I do and bless me with opportunities like this, nōku te whiwhi 💫

E koekoe te tūī, e ketekete te kākā, e kūkū te kererū.

Naomi and Hamuera Aporo-Manihera completed a short video series last year, Ngā Kākahu o Kurahaupō ki te Tauihu. This is episode two of the series and looks at revitalising some of the traditions and practices associated with native birds - Ngā Manu Māori.

Please be aware this shows up close images of pelting processes to share a practical perspective on the mahi involved.

E rere ana ngā mihi ki ngā iwi i tautoko i tēnei kaupapa: Ngāti kuia, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, me Ngāti Toa Rangatira, otirā ki te tokorua nei me ō rāua pokohiwi kaha e kawe tonu nei i ngā mātauranga o ngā mātua tīpuna. He reo tuku iho, he tāonga tuku iho, e ora ai tātou katoa!
