One year at the CANESS table. Looking back on our first chapter feels surreal. The first brand mockups with @handstudio.sydney , the early venue sketches with @squillace___ , choosing our very first crockery — somehow it all still feels vivid. What began as conversations, moodboards, and late-night ideas slowly became the space you know today. A cosy space designed to feel welcoming and unpretentious. A buzzing dining room that keeps things simple, bold, and full of flavour. To our partners, collaborators, friends, and the thousands of people who have sat at our table over the past year — thank you for being part of the story. Chapter one, done properly. Swipe to take a peek of our journey so far. On to the next ☝🏻

By @handstudio.sydney Have A Nice Day created the identity for CANESS, a Sydney tapas bar that strips everything back to focus on what matters. The name means ‘come in,’ which inspired charming lo-fi door illustrations that welcome its guests. The identity draws from old tobacconists and tape shops with bold, utilitarian graphics built to last. A clean, condensed serif anchors the brand, while the paint-style illustrations channel early Windows programmes. The Spanish-inspired colour palette flows through every touchpoint. This approach meant every element had to be perfectly considered with no flashy effects to hide behind. ——— CREDITS Graphic Design: @handstudio.sydney Client: @caness_sydney

Everyone needs a little refresh every so often, and after twenty five years we are retiring our old logo and starting anew. It was a big decision as we have always loved our clever little tent designed all those years ago by our dear friend @jneets . But, after a challenging few years, 2025 feels like a year for renewal, we will be offering new ways to experience the camp and now have a whole new look…we are excited for the change. Over the coming weeks we will be introducing new branding that’s a little softer, more grounded and earthy and that beautifully reflects our natural surroundings. We hope you like it too.. Thanks to Clara and Agus at @handstudio.sydney for helping us to see things differently, and getting us organised ! Image 1: @dicksweeney Image 2: @leebess
