This is what organizing looks like—bringing your friends to listen to incredible moms speak about why they’re running for office. It’s supporting those moms’ campaigns because you know that they’re running to make life better for everyone. It’s eating good food, playing trivia, shopping mom-owned brands, and feeling hopeful about politics for the first time since you can’t remember when.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this night a success.

To our special guests, Senator Woodson Bradley (candidate for NC Senate), Anderson Clayton (NC Democratic Party Chair), and Angie Nixon (Candidate for U.S. Senate, FL), THANK YOU! As always, listening to you speak is an inspiration and a breath of fresh air. These women are fighting tooth and nail to build a Democratic Party that truly represents the needs of constituents—one that rejects the idea that we need to return to the status quo in order to be electable.

To our Moms Night Out Ambassador, Amanda Seyfried (@mingey), for using your voice and your platform to amplify these incredible moms. We need everyone to be speaking out in this moment and Amanda is one of those genuine human beings who truly cares about making people’s lives better. SACSS mourns the passing of Gloria Steinem, a trailblazing journalist, activist, and tireless advocate for women’s rights, equality, and social justice.
This past June, we had the privilege of meeting Ms. Steinem at her townhome. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine curiosity touched us deeply. She took the time to listen, learn about SACSS, and meet with our clients, a powerful reminder that meaningful change begins with listening to the voices of those with lived experience.
We are grateful for that special moment and inspired by her extraordinary legacy. May her vision for a more just and equitable world continue to guide and inspire generations to come.

As a grassroots, mom-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the mission at MOM Film Fest is to serve as a career development and advocacy resource for moms working in independent film and television. With initiatives that create returnships for moms re-entering the workforce and supportive childcare solutions, they work to amplify the visibility of content made by moms in order to create job opportunities that will get #momsbackonset.

Thank you to all who joined us last night for the screening of Lifelines, a short film about what’s at stake for families without paid leave, followed by a panel discussion that left me more energized than ever about this fight!

I’m grateful to @repayannapressley, @reppettersen, and @hannahdocs for offering their honesty and heart, and to @symonedsanders for guiding such a thoughtful conversation.

None of this happens without the advocates who carry this work every day. Thank you to @paidleaveforall @familyvaluesatwork @a_better_balance ncbcp @caringacrossgen @clasp_dc @npwf for your partnership and your persistence.

No one should have to choose between caring for the people they love and earning a paycheck, and last night was a reminder we’re not carrying this fight alone.
