She cooks! 👩🏽‍🍳

People always ask me what I cook at home and I never seem to have a simple answer. Circumstances have changed a lot over the years. I’m busier, which means I’m time poor, my job *requires* me to eat out a lot, so what I cook at home has to be healthy as well as delicious, and I also have a little mouth to feed. He gets the staples but I also love exploring new tastes and flavours with him too. He’s become soooo interested in helping me cook and it’s a joy!

I always meal plan the weekend before the week commencing. I figure out when I’m out, what I’m cooking on which day and that works for me and my type A brain. I also like to double recipes so I have food for lunch the next day.

I love simplicity but also bold flavours. I love a bit of a kick but also great home comforts. Two people whose recipes I cook a lot of are @emthenutritionist and @shredhappens. They focus on high protein and high fibre, whilst never compromising on flavour.

I’m a competent home cook and love getting lost in the kitchen, whipping up something. I use most recipes as inspiration. All my cookbooks lend themselves as part of my discovery as a cook. I’ll read a recipe, make a mental note and then create my take on it. Food is so personal after all, isn’t it?

I used to love hosting dinner parties and to be honest they’ve fallen by the wayside since I had Alfie, but next year I really want to start again. Food is my love language and I love cooking for people and pushing myself out my comfort zones sometimes.

Here’s a little highlight of some recent dishes. First off are these ridiculously easy but extremely delicious tuna ceviche tostadas by @natsnourishments. Total game changer. My husband asked for these as a birthday present 😂

This is an old family recipe called “Favourite Pasta”. It’s the dish of my childhood! Penne, tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan on top. That is it!
Mum says she got the recipe off a @sainsburys recipe card back in the 90s! It still stands the test of time and is probably part of my death row feast!

This was a fabulous chilli beef recipe by @johngs. He’s really

It’s been a few weeks of incredibly good eating. I sweat at the gym so I can consume all this artistry. It’s a weird circle of life but here we are!

#roundup #wheretoeat #londonrestaurants #newopening #dining

Nothing like a @beigel_bake bagel in West London in the pouring rain. Still the OGs, still the best.

Apparently dry ice still exists and my god incredible sashimi and sushi does too. I love @yashinlondon. Highly recommend.

Fantastic tuna crispy rice. Heaven. @yashinlondon

Something a little different! Wagyu beef with cured egg and soy. @yashinlondon

The wonderful people at @tabernaetrusca have spruced up the place, updated the menu and I’m telling you it’s some of the best home style Italian food in London!

This cacio e pepe is the best I’ve had outside of Rome! @tabernaetrusca

Needs no introduction @tabernaetrusca

Controversially cut into rectangles but delicious nonetheless @thechanceryrosewood

I go to Gail’s now. I’m not being judgy but actually I am. If a cheese straw and a “cappuccino” makes a toddler happy, you do the damn thing. 😆

Devastated that @thelavery is no more but was great seeing it out with a delicious meal courtesy of @bodum

Terrible photo but this chocolate mousse with passionfruit curd in the classic @bodum glass was perfection. @thelavery

The man himself is back! @chefjgv has brought The Black Plate to London and it exceeded all my SATC expectations (IYKYK). @theconnaught

Ok I’m going to say it: I love chocolate fondant. It is what it is. @theconnaught @chefjgv

Mango sticky rice. @chefjgv

Another chef is in town! @chefmaychow has taken over The Little Blue Noodle Bar at @thepeninsulalondonhotel for the month and this spicy, numbing, fried chicken has completely and utterly changed my life.

The festive menu at @piedaterrerestaurant is worth every bite, penny and calorie. Full of alumni dishes and surprises. Divine.

The duck with tamarind and beetroot is a showstopper! @piedaterrerestaurant

And don’t get me started on the pear tarte tatin @piedaterrerestaurant

New chef on the block. Serious skills. Serious palate. Watch this space. 🧑🏻‍🍳

Still dreaming of this perfect bite. The hamachi tostada at @cavita.restaurante is so popular that when @cavitaadriana attempted to remove it from the menu, there was uproar!!

This is the dish that built this place. Full episode on YouTube now! 🩷 🇲🇽

🎙️ EPISODE 6 IS LIVE! 🎙️

WE’RE BACK! I’m so excited to share the 6th episode of @showingupstronger with the brilliant @hannahharley .

Hannah’s story is one of reinvention, creativity and having the courage to follow what truly lights you up.

After spending over a decade as a photographer, capturing celebrity portraits and major events, Hannah completely changed direction and created @crazysexyfood , bringing together food, culture and storytelling in such a brilliant way.

She’s since built her podcast into one of the UK’s top food shows, interviewed incredible guests including @marcopierrewhit and @prueleith , and now presents at some of the UK’s biggest food festivals.

This conversation is about so much more than food. We talk about changing direction, finding your identity, backing yourself, following your gut, creativity, ambition and what happens when you give yourself permission to start again.

This is exactly why I created @ShowingUpStronger. To have honest conversations with incredible women about the twists, turns, challenges and choices that shape who we become. Hannah’s story is such a brilliant reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out. Sometimes the best chapters come when you’re brave enough to change direction.

🎧 Episode 6 with me @sarahcampus and @hannahharleyyoung is OUT NOW on all podcast platforms and YouTube.

Proudly sponsored by @reviveactive_uk .

Listen, subscribe, share, comment and let’s keep showing up stronger together. 💛

WE’RE BACK. 🎙️✨

After a little summer break, @showingupstronger with @sarahcampus is back for the second half of Season 1 and we’re coming back even stronger.

I couldn’t think of a better woman to kick things off than @hannahharley creator of @crazysexyfood

Hannah is a London-based presenter who brings together food, culture and storytelling in such a brilliant way, but her story didn’t start in food.

Before creating one of the UK’s top food podcasts, Hannah spent over a decade as a photographer, capturing celebrity portraits and major events, before completely reinventing herself and following what truly lit her up.

She’s since interviewed some incredible names, including @marcopierrewhit and @prueleith , and now presents at some of the UK’s biggest food festivals.

What I love about Hannah’s story is the courage to change direction, back yourself and create something that feels authentically yours.

In this conversation, we talk about reinvention, identity, creativity, following your gut, finding your thing and what happens when you give yourself permission to start again, and this is just the beginning…

Episode 6 of @showingupstronger drops tomorrow. 🎧

We’re back and I think this next chapter is going to be a good one.

Let’s keep showing up stronger together.

there’s only one @acsimon.
and thank fuck.
because if every weekend.
had a 40th celebration.
like we had last night.
i’d surely perish.
only our simon.
could turn a soho house.
into a fully branded.
warehouse garage rave.
gun fingers and picantes galore.
pack out a premises.
with great people.
and greater vibes.
@krissyyouth my queen.
you smashed the production.
amy fucking simon.
you smashed your live PA.
featuring @harveyofficial.
and fulfilled my dream.
of going lyric for lyric.
with so solid crew.
kind of.
but let me get soppy.
just for a second.
amy you are a light.
the most delightful kind.
of absolute dickhead.
and i am so grateful.
that freedom at topshop.
brought us together.
but our shared love.
of shenanigans.
kept us going strong.
i love you bby.
welcome to the 4th floor.

Last weekend we headed to @thebigfeastival with Leal, our Creative Social Media Executive capturing our brilliant chefs doing what they do best.

On stage across the weekend were Kyu Jeon and Duncan Robertson, Tom Barnes, Freddy Bird and Simon Rogan.

One of the greatest joys of our work is having a front-row seat to moments like these - witnessing the creativity and talent of the people we work with, seeing audiences experience it for themselves, and being trusted to help share their stories.

We feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such an inspiring team of people, and even luckier to showcase what they do. A very special weekend ❤️‍🔥

Last weekend at @thebigfeastival

A brilliant few days, and a real pleasure to be back. Thank you to @alexjameshq for having us, and to @martynodell @lagomchef and @hannahharley for hosting me on stage.

We talked about where it all started with @lenclume, how things have grown over the years at @ourfarm, and the amazing work our teams are doing across our restaurants today.

And, of course, cabbage got its own moment in the spotlight on the Big Kitchen stage where I cooked a stuffed cabbage dish that’s very close to my heart - and one that will soon be coming to @homebysimonrogan for you to enjoy at home.

It was also great to see @cheftombarnes taking to the Big Kitchen stage, and to catch up with so many familiar faces across the weekend.

Thanks to everyone who came along, said hello and got involved with your questions and plenty of laughs. We had a great time.

What a job to call work. I feel so lucky to be able to do this day in and day out. Wouldn’t change it for the world! Bring on next year 🩷
