What happens when an industrial designer with a Pilates addiction meets a bunch of founders? I guess she starts a Pilates equipment company! But obviously she’s not just going to sell a typical Pilates reformer… she’s going to completely reengineer it to fold in half and fit under almost any bed or sofa. An undertaking that has taken almost 4 years now. But we’re almost there! Can’t wait for October!!

The TLDR on how Somato came to be.

(Featuring: a rugby injury, a design thesis, a factory fail, and a very chic comeback.)

Pilates Inspired Me To:

Explore ideas that went beyond the traditional equipment.

I questioned the ideas of:
✨Springs coming from overhead.
✨Springs for arms and legs at the same time.
✨Providing a way for clients to have more standing functional work.
✨Jumping with less impact.

I found my answers as I created @fitsprings and it offers me so much from creativity to new ways to get clients to experience movement that might not otherwise have been possible!

👉Curious if this would be a good fit for you? Please follow my FitSprings page and reach out!

💗For those who explore ideas and create and set them into motion this is for you!

New faces, new challenges, and new positions—our women’s team showed what true grit looks like at Nationals! 💪🏉 With a lot of fresh talent stepping up and players adapting to roles they don’t usually play, we came together and gave it our all. The growth, resilience, and support for one another was something special. This is just the beginning. 💙🔥

From the Bay to the desert 🌵🏉 Our San Francisco Touch Rugby Club battled hard at Nationals in Phoenix—fought with heart, made unforgettable memories, and forged new bonds with teammates and opponents alike. We didn’t hit the podium, but we’re leaving with something even better: new friendships and a stronger team than ever. Until next year! 💪💙
