In 2026, Happycentro (@happycentro) created the brand identity and packaging for the I Am Italiano chocolate collection. To complete the identity, the studio developed a custom typeface and designed the chocolate bar itself, taking inspiration from Al Dizionario Italiano — a handbook of Italian gestures created by the Milanese artist and graphic designer Bruno Munari.

Client: I Am Italiano (@iamitaliano.it)
Art direction & Type design: Happy Centro @happycentro (Federico Galvani, Mattia Cristini)

@happycentro turned the pack for Sabadì’s I AM ITALIANO chocolate into a collectable postcard. The Verona-based studio designed the identity, packaging and a custom ITALIANO typeface for a 12-bar organic chocolate range, structured around four themes: ART, DESTINATION, ICONS and ITALIAN DOLCE VITA. Each outer pack opens to reveal an illustrated postcard that can be framed or mailed, built from a two-piece construction in single-sided coated card used inside out for a tactile contrast. The chocolate bars are embossed with Italian hand gestures drawn from Bruno Munari’s Supplemento al Dizionario Italiano. ——— CREDITS Design: @happycentro Brand: @iamitaliano.it Typography: Custom typeface by @happycentro

@iamitaliano.it by @happycentro I AM ITALIANO is a premium chocolate line by Sabadì that explores the cultural codes of Italianità through a contemporary lens. The challenge was to create a product that balances refined craftsmanship with a sense of immediacy and joy, appealing to both discerning audiences and a broader market. The identity transforms familiar Italian symbols into a playful yet sophisticated visual system, structured across themes like art, destinations, icons, and dolce vita. Postcard-inspired packaging introduces a collectible layer, while a custom typeface adds depth and character. The result is a distinctive brand that blends cultural storytelling, irony, and design precision into a memorable experience. #branding #brandidentity #branddesign
