Let’s join me to dine at Contango @themajestickl, where an impressive buffet spread awaits in a beautiful and elegant setting. With such a wide variety of dishes, the hardest part was deciding where to begin! 😍

I started with the fresh seafood on ice, colourful salads and beautifully arranged cold cuts before making my way around the different live cooking stations.

There was plenty to indulge in, from freshly baked pizza and tender meats to comforting hot dishes and flavourful local favourites. My buffet strategy is always to take smaller portions first, so I can sample as many dishes as possible before going back for the ones I love most! 😋

One of my favourite stops was the live carving station, where the meat was freshly sliced and served warm and juicy.

And of course, I made sure to save plenty of room for dessert! The sweet selection included pretty little cakes, creamy treats, pastries and freshly made pancakes drizzled with chocolate. This was definitely my happy corner, and the perfect way to end the feast. 🍰🍫

From fresh seafood and hearty mains to live stations and irresistible desserts, there’s truly something for everyone at Contango.

Who needs a passport when dinner takes you around the world? 🌍🍽️

For just two exclusive evenings, internationally renowned celebrity chef Alan Coxon flew into Kuala Lumpur to present A Culinary Trek Around the World at J & Kel The Salon, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre—a multi-course dining experience inspired by the cultures, flavours and stories gathered from his travels across the globe.

The journey began with a delightful trilogy of amuse featuring a lobster & foie gras doughnut, chargrilled langoustine and an A5 Wagyu beef pie tee, before moving on to a prawn, turbot & saffron terrine, a beautifully clear chicken consommé and a perfectly cooked king scallop with black garlic, lemongrass and beurre blanc.

But the evening’s standout for me was the Indian-inspired spiced lamb served two ways. Richly aromatic with warming spices, it was paired with creamy pumpkin purée, crispy pavé potatoes, baked shallots, rosemary jus and port wine—a dish that was both comforting and beautifully refined.
.
Ending on a sweet note with a classic chocolate tart and J & Kel’s trilogy of sweet treats, it was an evening of exceptional food, fascinating storytelling and warm hospitality.

A delicious reminder that sometimes the best way to travel the world… is one course at a time. ✈️🍷

Malaysia’s Award-winning CRAB house 🦀 🌟🏆

Everyone comes here for their famous crabs, BUT don’t make the same mistake I almost did by ordering ONLY crab dishes because everything else was unexpectedly good too! 🤩

Pick from over 29 cooking styles and from 3 crab sizes. I went for the Claypot Kam Heong Butter Crab and it did not disappoint. The crab was fresh, meaty and perfectly cooked, while the crispy mantou buns were perfect for soaking up the rich, spicy and fragrant creamy sauce 🤤

Besides crab, I also loved their succulent dual flavoured shrimp balls and steamed scallops with ginger, garlic and chilli 😍

I thought it’s a seafood crab house but their massive menu offers plenty of meat options too. 🐖 🐓 🍖 🥩 Plus they shockingly nailed it too 💯

Got the giant, juicy meaty long pork ribs, one coated in sticky sweet BBQ glaze while the other light battered and drenched with spicy thai style sauce 🔥. However, the real star of the meal for me was the XO Steamed Village Chicken. Seemingly simple yet incredibly succulent with an intense rice wine aroma and flavour that kept me going back for more 🤤 🙌 .

I visited their outlet in Pavilion Elite KL and despite it being packed, the service was top notch 💯 .

So yes, this viral crab house totally lives up to the hype and is worth visiting 👍 .
