It’s KONA WEEK 🌺🌴❤️‍🔥 aka the Ironman World Championships in the original home of Ironman in Hawaii!!! Sometimes you gotta look back to look forward, and last year’s women’s race was one of the most dramatic you’ll ever see! No doubt this will make the likes of Lucy Charles Barclay and Taylor Knibb hungry for the win this year, but you can’t overlook Solveig or Kat on a good day 👀 Who’s your picks? 🇫🇷Nice, Race day Recap🏝️ WOW, what a stunning course ✨ This race has to be the highlight of my triathlon journey to date. 🏊‍♀️ The Swim Firstly, one of the best swims I’ve ever had. Not in terms of time or distance, but just the whole experience. The water was the clearest blue and you could see as far as your eyes would let you, fish, jellyfish, even a swim cap that had come off 😂 I saw it all! And no panicking from me 🙌 The water was so warm it was actually a delight to swim in. 🚴‍♀️ The Bike It’s not often in a race that you look up and completely forget you’re racing alongside 3,000 other women, but this course was one of those ones. The views were absolutely stunning. I loved the climb. I’d prepped so well at home and with the week of riding in Mallorca, I felt ready for it and that descent was SO MUCH FUN! At one point I got so lost in the views that I genuinely forgot I was racing. Then when I remembered, I was just overcome with this huge sense of gratitude. I remember thinking, “How is this my life? How did I get here? How lucky am I to be living my dream?” 🥹 Coming back into town things started to get a little uncomfy and I was definitely looking forward to getting off the bike and out onto the run. 🏃‍♀️ The Run Well… what a vibe! Firstly, the views from transition were stunning, then running out to a packed crowd, past the #ILoveNice sign and along the promenade was just incredible. My legs felt SO good and I genuinely loved the run until about the 16km mark, when they started to slow me down a little. It was hot and it was starting to hurt, but I stayed in such a good headspace and just kept going. How could I not? I was in the middle of the best race of my life. Crossing that finish line, I was relieved, grateful and completely full of emotion. Did I just do that?! 🥹 I’m so proud of how I executed this race, from all the training and preparation, to my nutrition, the swim, the bike and right through to the run. It all came together on the day. This course and this whole race week will forever hold such a special place in my heart. I honestly don’t know how I’ll top this one. Living the dream ✨🫶🌻

One of the best things about 70.3 World Championships is having the Men’s and Women’s races on different days - so @mardic7 got to get out and watch the pro men race on the Sunday in Nice with Hayden Wilde taking out an epic race ahead of Lasse Nygaard Priester, Kristian Blummenfelt and Jelle Geens 🏆 We give our debrief of both the pro men’s and women’s race on Episode 21 of the pod. NICE ONE 🌎🇫🇷💜✨ 70.3 World Championships 2026 - a 1.9km swim in the Med, 90km with 1200m of climbing on the bike (and a very enjoyable descent 🙌) then 21.1km along the Promonade des Anglais 🇫🇷 Quite possibly the most incredible course I’ll ever race, and one of the most special weekends in triathlon to be a part of. I have the biggest smile on my face in these photos because I’m so grateful for all of the people, and moments who got me here - my friends, my family, my coach, the entire @happypace.tri crew (and especially the athletes I have the privilege to coach) plus training buddies old and new in Melbourne and Brissy 🫶 Highly recommend to do hard things 💜🧡

What a week 🤩 there's something totally surreal about meeting up with Aussie pals on the other side of the world for a race, let alone it being the 70.3 World Champs! 🇫🇷 it's been a once in a lifetime experience to share the memories of swimming in the Mediterranean, cycling through the Alps and running along the Promenade des Anglais 🥐 I absolutely got my value for money with this race (IYKYK) and it barely even felt like one 😅 Thanks to Amy for encouraging me to attend the Cairns rolldown ceremony, Em & Kieren for sharing their accommodation, Britt for the on-course high 5s, and last but not least Mardi for creating the incredible @happypace.tri community and bringing us all together 💜💛 well and truly found my Happy Pace!

Ironman 70.3 World Championships 2026🇫🇷 So incredibly proud of myself for this performance considering this goal wasn’t in my sights until June. I’m not going to say my journey here was super easy with balancing shift work and training but it’s not only physical strength the sessions built, it’s mental as well. I needed to pull on that mental strength to keep pushing up the Col de Venice and in the last 7km of the run. I was somewhat looking forward to the swim as the water temp sitting around 25 degrees and it was so much clearer and flatter than the Cairns swim. The water temp took me back to swimming in the river with Scotty on school holidays and there wasn’t the sudden heart rate spike from jumping into cold water 😂 Seeing the rocks of the beach and small fish disappear as I swam out and reappear as I came back was incredible. One down side of having 3000 women racing on the same day is that the transition area was a leg of the race in itself. Pretty sure everyone knew the ride was going to be my favourite leg and there was nothing more encouraging than looking down the switch backs of the climb and seeing how far I had already come. I loved the decent more than the climb and I think my times and avg speed shows that 😂 Aside from the speed bumps, cars and lack of three stone arches, I really enjoyed this ride. All of my nutrition went down without an issue and I felt early on that electrolytes were going to play a big part in my day. Coming out onto the run leg I was feeling pretty good despite effort put in on the bike. The first 14km felt good and seemed to fly by. Around the 16km mark, I started run walking the aid stations due to the heat (this was around 2:00pm) and started chatting to a Canadian who I was chasing down the the last 10km or so and we had a bit of a chat to get us both running again. Most of my runs at work are around the 5km distance so when I had that far to go I knew it was only a few laps of the camp to go. The finishing carpet is always a blur and I never photograph well over the finish line but at least you can see the emotion 😅 @happypace.tri 💜 @mackay_triathlon_club @mackaycyclingclub @tyler.roberts98

TWO updates!! Transferred my @ironman70.3melbourne from 2026 to 2027, because obviously NO chance I can complete this year 🩼 I tried to change to Busso 2027 BUT Busso is over 12 months past my original race so they don’t allow that! 2nd update: I actually downgraded my @t100triathlon from the 100km distance, to the Olympic distance! We weren’t sure if I would actually be ready for the full distance or not by that point. So rather than wasting our money, I’ve shortened the distance so I should be ready by then And then have @ironman70.3melbourne in November! Which should lead me nicely into @londonmarathon for 2028 🤞 I’ve emailed London marathon, and because my race is on a Saturday they can’t guarantee the deferral will be 2028! Matt said 300 LIKES in 24 hours and we will buy tickets for US BOTH for @t100triathlon IN VANCOUVER CANADA 🇨🇦 for 2027!! For us, travelling and sport is something we’re both passionate in, we enjoy travelling for our races… So Canada might be next on our list? 👀 After I ruptured my ACL & meniscus tear, I need to have something to look forward to, now that all my races for the next 8 months had to be cancelled..
