OMG... Day 1 of the @paidsummit completely exceeded my expectations! A big round of applause to @osarualile and her team, @light.designfactory and everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure this is a virtual summit like no other.
From the conversations to the insights shared by the speakers, I found myself constantly inspired and reminded why spaces, storytelling, and intentional design matter so much.
One thing I really appreciated was how honest and practical the sessions felt; not just beautiful ideas, but real conversations about growth, creativity, business, and the future of interior design across Africa and beyond.
So grateful to everyone who made today impactful. 🙌🏾
Already looking forward to Day 2 and 3 and all the amazing discussions still to come.
A special thank you to @africa_creatives_alliance_ for making this possible for me.

Home should be a place of safety, not a source of illness.

For millions across Africa, poor housing means exposure to preventable health risks, discomfort, and loss of dignity every day.

This is more than a design issue. It is a human issue.

In partnership with Happy Space Project, PAID Summit 2026 is committing 70% of its proceeds toward transforming 100 dilapidated homes into spaces that are livable, breathable, and dignified.

Your ticket does more than give you access. It helps create real change.

Poor housing is not just about how spaces look. It is about health, dignity, and survival. Spaces that expose people to tuberculosis, cholera, and preventable diseases are not just broken, they are urgent.

For millions of Africans, this is not a distant reality. It is everyday life.

This is why PAID Summit 2026 exists.

Every ticket purchased moves us closer to transforming 100 homes into spaces that are livable, breathable, and dignified.

Design is not just aesthetic. It is impact.

70% of proceeds from PAID Summit 2026 go to the Happy Space Project.
Here’s why:

Before design became an industry, it was a way of life.

In the courtyards where stories were told.
In the living rooms where families gathered.
In the spaces that made people feel seen and safe.

But today, too many people still live in spaces that don’t support their wellbeing.

Design is truly about how people live. It supports our lifestyles and livelihoods

This is our way of giving back…1creating spaces that restore dignity, healing, and possibility across Africa.

So when you attend, you’re not just learning.
You’re part of something real.

It started with questions the industry wasn’t really answering.

About professionalism.
About growth.
About what it truly means to build a design career, and interior design career.

So a space was created for honest conversations, shared experiences, and clarity for designers across Africa.

In 2018, it happened.
Now, it’s back.

If we’re not telling our stories through design, who will?

The @happyspaces.ldf project reminded us that impact doesn’t always need scale to be meaningful.

Sometimes it starts with presence, care, and designing with people rather than for them.

I used to think design was just about beauty. Now I understand it’s also about reminding people they are worthy of it

Through the Happy Space Project, we’re transforming overlooked rooms across West Africa into spaces of dignity and light.

Because a room is never just a room, it’s where dreams take root.

This Giving December, we’re raising $10,000 to redesign four family homes. Bring hope to a family today. Click the link in our bio to donate now.

Earlier in November, I spoke at a World Bank event alongside our Principal, @osarualile, who shared a powerful talk on AI for Dignity.

I spoke about our first Happy Space transformation: a mother and her children moving from unsafe, cramped conditions into a room that finally allowed them to breathe, live, and dream again.

This month, we want to bring that same healing to 4 different families.
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 to make it possible.

Giving Tuesday was celebrated globally yesterday, and at LDF we’re carrying that spirit into Giving December. Your contribution can help create the next Happy Space. #instagood #happyspaces #lightdesignfactory #beautiful #love
