🪩✨ A party is NOTHING without the PEOPLE! ✨🪩

And when there’s a purpose behind the party, well, that makes it even better! 💖

What a night of big hair, sparkles, dancing boots, and incredible people coming together for a great cause!

A HUGE thank you to Headwaters Trails Alliance (HTA) @happytrails_hta and @gravityhauswinterpark for bringing us all together and giving us another reason to celebrate this amazing community!

And to everyone who showed up, dressed up, sang along, and danced the night away — YOU are what makes these events unforgettable! 💃

As Dolly would say, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose!” 💕

Until next time, keep spreading love, supporting your community, and dancing like nobody’s watching!

🍂 A big thank you to @bobkaslik Bob Kaslik for capturing this amazing recent moose sighting in Tabernash and sharing it with us.

While sightings like this are a great reminder of the beauty in Grand County, they’re also a good reminder to stay extra vigilant on the road.

According to our partners at the Colorado State Patrol, October through December is peak season for wildlife-vehicle crashes. Fall migration and peak mating season mean animals are moving to lower elevations, easily distracted, and frequently crossing roadways.

Wildlife collisions cause severe vehicle damage and are often fatal for the animal. The single most effective defense is obeying the posted speed limit—and slowing down even further when visibility drops.

🚨 Tips to Avoid a Wildlife Crash:
• Watch your speed: Never exceed the posted limit.
• Scan the roads: Look across both lanes and along shoulders for movement or eye shine.
• Use high beams: Turn on your brights at night whenever traffic permits.
• Look for groups: If you see one animal, assume there are others nearby.
• Stop safely: If you have time and traffic behind you permits, stop and turn on your hazard lights.

💥 What if an animal suddenly jumps in front of you?
If you don’t have time to stop safely, brake in a straight line. Do not swerve or jerk the wheel. Swerving into oncoming traffic or off the shoulder leads to far worse crashes. Stay in your lane—if collision is unavoidable, angle slightly toward the rear of the animal.

📞 Emergency & Reporting Info:
• In a crash? Call 9-1-1 immediately.
• Spotted injured or distressed wildlife near the road? Call *CSP (*277) so dispatch can notify the appropriate wildlife resources.

Drive safely, Grand County! Let’s protect both our drivers and our wildlife this season.

🔥 FIRE DANGER UPDATE 🔥

Grand County has officially transitioned to MODERATE Fire Danger.

What does “Moderate” actually mean?

• Starts: Fires can start easily from accidental causes (like a stray spark or unextinguished cigarette).

• Spread: In dry grasslands, fire can move fast—especially on windy days.

• Control: While these fires are usually easier to control, they can still burn hot in heavy brush.

🪵 Campfire Safety: Always ensure campfires are dead out (cold to the touch!) before leaving.

Even as conditions shift, staying vigilant and prepared remains critical. Don’t wait for an emergency to strike—protect our community with these three steps:

1️⃣ Stay Informed Sign up for real-time Grand County Alerts sent straight to your phone in an emergency. Check current fire restrictions and rules at: GCEmergency.com (link in Bio)

2️⃣ Know Your Zone Grand County is divided into specific zones (letters and numbers) to make evacuation orders quick and clear. Look up your home, work, and school addresses today so you know your zone by heart. Find your zone at: gcgov.us/GCEvacMap (link in Bio)

3️⃣ Get Prepared Wildfire prevention starts with you. Get crucial safety and preparedness tips from the Grand County Wildfire Council. Learn more at: BeWildfireReady.org (link in Bio)

Thank you for your cooperation and vigilance in keeping our community safe.
