Massive thank you to Ruben Halse for giving up an hour of his Sunday morning every week to teach me how to pose.

I was a late entry into the show, so we only had 5–6 weeks to work together, which definitely made his job harder. When I started, I’d never posed before. I couldn’t even string two steps together, let alone perform a full posing routine.

In such a short space of time, Ruben transformed me from a complete beginner into someone the judges actually complimented on their stage presence and posing routine. That’s a credit to his patience, knowledge and attention to detail.

What impressed me even more was that he wasn’t just coaching me—he was also helping Darren and Steve, somehow remembering all three of our routines better than we remembered them ourselves!

Your work behind the scenes played a huge part in my final presentation on stage. Thank you for giving up your time, sharing your knowledge, and making the most of the short timeframe I gave you.

Absolute genius, mate. Thank you.

Tuesday 16th June: carb up day 1
Fasted AM check in pictures weighing 87.6kg.
I will post again this evening after several meals and a pump just for my records and anyone who is interested!

This is completely uncharted territory for me now I don’t know if this is even looking good or bad but we are where we are and we compete in the @pca_official East Anglian on Sunday 21 June as a first time bodybuilder.

Today’s posing session with Ruben Halse 3 weeks out from the @pca_official East Anglia and Ruben has successfully got me moving with some sort of flow instead of a cumbersome powerlifter from where we started a few weeks ago!

My first posing session alongside Darren and under the tutelage of Ruben Halse.
I’m trusting these two to turn me from powerlifter to bodybuilder in 5 weeks and credit to Ruben in just a few days he’s sorted my routine and made it simple enough for me to remember after just one session!

Week 2 of posing practice.
Some small improvements in conditioning from last week but the presentation needs a lot of work.
This seems to be the most challenging part of “bodybuilding” so far but I’m looking forward to working Ruben Halse going forward to present my physique as well as possible in the future 💪

Safe to say a lot can change in 1 year…. Exactly one years difference between these pics. Consistency, motivation repetition and the constant desire to be better. I could never have done this without @chris.jonas_ and @hard_working_mindset believing in me and being the best coaches around. Forever grateful to be able to continue to improve and do something I love day in and day out 🙏

Still going with the high reps low weight range 15 sec recovery sessions, these are brutal and very underrated and have worked wonders for me…. Return of heavier sessions coming soon @hard_working_mindset
