My weekends look a lot different than they used to

I’ve swung the pendulum both ways and learned the hard way how much ‘play’ I have capacity for

On the other side of things I vividly remember the fear that would course through my veins when I was unsure how I’d track a meal or if I’d hit my steps one day…

My favorite thing has been curating that middle ground where I can truly thrive

Weekends filled with nature, hobbies, experiences and movement 🌳🪴🧶🎶🏔️💪🏼

For all of us who have swung that pendulum, I see you 🙏🏼 life gets to be as good as we curate 💫

I’m really grateful for this lil season 🫶🏼

It really doesn’t matter how many times you break it apart and rebuild it, start over or change the plan. What matters is that you care enough to do just that 🌿💜

I’ve spent a lot of time and effort creating peace with how the last year has played out

I’ve changed SO much as a person and with that, my approach to all the things has changed too

So, I’m in the season of being at peace with those decisions and simultaneously being ready to create a bit more rigidity 🤭

Let’s get it 💪🏼

I started my fitness journey with a very different ‘why’

I started my journey trying to be the smallest version of myself… if only I lost the weight I’d be ______ (insert whatever reason here)

✨ I’d be happier
✨ I’d find my person
✨ I’d feel more confident
✨ I’d no longer struggle with my relationship with food

My health and wellness journey started with me following what MFP recommended I eat in order to lose weight and I did lose weight — nearly 100 lbs in less than a year.

MFP didn’t actually teach me anything, though. When I reached my ‘goal’ I still couldn’t create a balanced meal, didn’t know how to fuel for my activity levels and didn’t have a plan to maintain my results 🫠

andddd yep, you guessed it — I gained some weight back, yo-yo dieted for 5 more years and felt continually frustrated with my journey… until I found macros + strength training

Macros allowed me to LEARN about nutrition efficiently and effectively and weight lifting allowed me to TRANSFORM my body in ways I never thought possible. Every ounce of muscle I have was built in the last six years and I am D*MN proud of that statement!

I started lifting weights to fall in love with a body I worked hard to create and it allowed me to cultivate confidence in ways that were very new to me… but now?

Now I lift weights so I can pick up heavy, freshly watered plants

I lift weights to move freely in my older years

I lift weights to avoid the fragility I saw in my grandmother before she passed

I lift weights so I can easily explore some of the most beautiful parts of our country with 50# on my back

I lift weights because being strong is so much better than being skinny 🙏🏼

I’d love to know why YOU lift weights, so drop a comment below and let’s chat 🌿💜.

I’ve been that gal ITCHING for the weekends…

Weekends meant flexibility with food, treat meals and even cocktails and don’t get me wrong - there’s nothing wrong with that approach! I definitely still enjoy a treat meal and cocktail here and there 🤭

However, the biggest flex is in LOVING what you choose to eat whether it’s a week day or weekend day…

If you feel like you ‘hate’ the food you choose to eat or crave the weekend so you can ‘have a break’, the issue likely lies in your approach.

Your food is too restrictive and too boring to lend to any true consistency!

Change your approach to include the foods you LOVE (tacos and sweet potato fries for me 😜) and you’ll find so much more joy in the process…

I have two spots open for coaching with @harmonic_strength 🌿💜 and these spots are reserved for women who want to get down and dirty when it comes to limiting beliefs and the things that have been holding them back from success.

The women who work with me change their entire LIFE, not just lose the weight, so if you want that to be you too… hit the application link in my bio and we’ll develop your plan together 🤗💖

It would have saved me YEARS.

I wish I could go back in time and share the wisdom + knowledge I have today on nutrition. These three things would have saved me so much time on my journey, I’m not sugar coating that.

1️⃣ there is absolutely NO NEED to cut out entire food groups to lose weight or transform your physique! The only foods we should remove are foods we don’t like or can’t tolerate. Stop labeling foods good or bad and watch your relationship with food thrive 🤗

2️⃣ eating enough (ESP PROTEIN) speeds up your journey, not slows it down. When we stop operating out of scarcity your body has the energy to do so. much. more! Eating enough means you’re fueled for your activity level, you have energy to carry you through your day, and you show up so much more intentionally.

3️⃣ enjoying the foods you eat makes this forever journey sustainable! You heard me right - it’s a forever journey, not one with a timeline and end date. If you’re choosing to eat boiled chicken and unseasoned broccoli because you think that’s what will get you to the finish line faster, you’re sorely mistaken.

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated when you have the right knowledge and support 👏🏼

Mamas this one is for you 🤩⬇️

Carly came to me ready to make some changes, but she was aware she couldn’t do it alone.

At nearly four months postpartum she was fed up with how she was feeling.

At just over eight months postpartum she is feeling better than ever and jokes that she doesn’t even remember being the woman on the left 🫠

Being a mom changed Carly’s life for so many positive reasons but from a health and wellness perspective it catapulted her mindset from all or nothing to growth oriented.

She became resourceful, found flexibility where rigidity uses to live and will be enjoying summer on the cape with her bikini and her babe! ☀️👙🌊

Look out for open spots on my roster in early May via @harmonic_strength 😎

calling all hamsters ‼️

just kidding 😜 but I KNOW you’ve been that girl spinning her wheels, trying everything, cutting calories…

the reality is that you do not need to focus on eating less (because you’re likely not eating enough!) — you do, however, need to focus on the right things…

now be honest… which of these things do you need to work on?

honestly… the post says it all

I could yap on this forever but… your skinny tea, juice cleanse, whole 30 and everything in between don’t REALLY work if you have to start over every January 🫠

Put in the time and the work and you will be rewarded 🦋

yeah… life’s been extra hard for me too 😣

I’m feeling like I’m running on a hamster wheel with some massive mood swings. I’ve been short with the people I love. I’ve been mean to myself. It feels so unlike me that I’ve had to take a step back and ask myself what’s really going on

I couldn’t get clear on the answer, though 🥴

This weekend I was chatting with a friend who is going through her own personal growth chapter. I took a step back and held space for her. I reminded her that the time of the year plays a huge role in how we feel mentally and emotionally and as those words came out of my mouth I was finally able to meet myself with understanding and compassion. It was as clear as a smack in the face. The body really does keep the score.

This time last year everything changed for me. I moved across the country, settling into my new home in Colorado. I moved away from the first place I chose to call home, leaving friends and ‘friends’ behind. A friendship I never expected to lose ended and with that I built Harmonic Strength from the ground up while grieving my old home and that friendship. To say it was easy would be a lie. It almost broke me every single day.

I thought about burning it all to the ground repeatedly. But, I’d be damned if id allow someone else to take the peace I spent so long building. The gifts I have around empathy and compassion and coaching. The love and respect my clients and I build together.

I am not the same person I was 12 months ago and I don’t want to be. I’m gentler to myself and softer all around. I’m taking the opportunity to feel my feelings, heal my past and that means that I’m going to have days, weeks and even months that feel so hard.

Because one day it won’t feel so hard.

I love you, and I’m proud of you for pushing yourself to grow. Staying stuck isn’t for people like us. To the people in my circle who have done nothing but lift me up over the last year, thank you from the bottom of my heart 💖

Ever felt like if you can’t do it perfectly, it’s not worth doing at all? Let’s fix that ⬇️

Well, same — I’ve been a victim to all or nothing thinking. It ruled my health and wellness journey for years, keeping me stuck a spinning my wheels.

My clients know that I don’t ever need them to be perfect (in fact I do not WANT them to be perfect), we just need consistency.

Finding an approach that allows you to be consistent is what can be sustained, not holding yourself to the highest standards of perfection

I teach my clients to pivot and it becomes one of their most powerful tools. Now I’m sharing that with you, too 🤗🪄

Drop a 🔄 if you’re ready to embrace flexibility!
