POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This past weekend was a whirlwind! On Friday, I taught three workshops and played a concert with two other fabulous harpists, Allison Miller and @maecookeharp at the very first New England Harp Festival, created by Haley Hewitt. Then on Saturday, I spent the day in the harp nook (led by Beth Dickerson) at the Scotland Connecticut Highland Games, where I taught a tune, performed a concert, and helped answer all the harpy questions thrown our way. I am so glad that I recruited @harpnyc to join us and to share her knowledge of Scottish harping!

Come to the Highland Games! @harpnyc and I will be there all day along with the wonderful Beth Dickerson to give concerts, workshops, and a Q&A where you can ask whatever questions you have about the harp.

🪉 One Harp World 🌎 World Harp Congress & American Harp Society, Inc. 825 harpists all together for a week in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦

Where do I even begin?

Playing again with the Chicago Harp Quartet after two years apart was everything. I’ve learned everything from playing with these ladies over the past 14 years and owe SO much to them. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. What none of us expected was how many harpists from all over the world came up afterwards to tell us they had watched every single video, listened to every recording, played all our arrangements, and that our quartet was the reason their own quartet exists. 🪉🪉🪉🪉 It was so special to play in Los Angeles for the first time and then in Toronto!

We presented a recital of original works commissioned by us including the world premiere of @tristanjcoelho’s Echos through the Eucalypts.

And then there were the moments that stopped me in my tracks. A harpist came up to me and reminded me that she had played for me in a masterclass years ago. She told me that because I was so kind and generous to her that day, she kept going. She is now finishing her doctorate in harp. I will be thinking about that conversation for a very long time. Be kind to people. You never know what it plants! 🥹 Theres so much more to say, but honestly all i can say is thank you! To all the volunteers, organisers, performers, exhibitors, everyone I connected with, thank you! My heart is full ♥️ #harp #harpist #practicalharpist

Ethereal, soft, and understated.

Violin + harp creates a soundscape. For ceremonies, it turns walking down the aisle into something slow, intentional, and cinematic. For cocktail hour, it creates an atmosphere that feels refined but effortless — guests talking a little softer, lingering a little longer, noticing the details.

“Can’t Help Falling in Love” works so naturally in this setting.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our communities. ❤️

They give their time, energy, and compassion to support neighbors, strengthen local organizations, and create positive change where it matters most. Whether they’re mentoring youth, helping at community events, or simply lending a helping hand, their impact reaches far beyond what we see.

Strong communities aren’t built by individuals alone - they’re built by people who care enough to show up for one another.

Today and always, we celebrate and thank every volunteer who makes a difference through acts of kindness, big and small.

Thank you to all the volunteers who hosted our wonderful Spring Tea yesterday, including @carolynsfabfoods @harpnyc and @sweetness_by_saba.
