POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Your body has been trying to warn you for years.

The tension you stopped noticing. The sleep that never fully restores. The reactions that feel too big for what triggered them.

You are not broken. You are depleted.

And the tool to change it is something you are already doing every second of every day without thinking about it.

Tomorrow on Informed Choice, Systema master Roy Hatcher breaks down the one thing standing between you and a regulated nervous system: your breath.

Not as a mindfulness tip. As a root-cause intervention.

We also get into:
Why your body goes on autopilot under stress and how to take the wheel back
What chronic tension is actually doing to your hormones, your sleep, and your gut
The mirror test that tells you exactly where your nervous system is right now
And why calmness is not an outcome. It is a practice.

New episode drops tomorrow. Link in bio to subscribe so you don’t miss it.

Most people think martial arts teaches you how to fight..

The best martial arts teach you how to think, respond, regulate emotions, and move through challenges with discipline and confidence.

How does your body responds under pressure or recognize tension? How do you regulate instead of react?

Facilitated by @hatchershouseofsystema this interactive workshop uses martial arts principles to explore emotional intelligence, self discipline, confidence, and personal growth in a way that’s practical and accessible to all ages.

📍Johnson C. Smith University • Saturday, June 13, 2026 • 10AM–6PM

A lot of people hear “self-defense” and think fighting.. Real self-defense starts with awareness.

How does your body responds under pressure or recognize tension? How do you regulate instead of react?

Our Somatic Self-Defense 101 workshop is about understanding how stress and survival responses show up in the body and what it looks like to move through them with more control, awareness, and intention.

Led by @hatchershouseofsystema • Session 1 begins at 1:30 and Session 2 begins at 2:45!

Join us on April 19th for Community Check-In: Doing the Work Out Loud

Constraint interrupts orientation.
Completion restores it.

This movement isn’t training or recovery.
It’s finishing what the nervous system couldn’t complete under force.

When interruption ends, continuity matters.

The center is not taught.
The center is revealed.

A worldview in which ritual, cosmology, and warfare were inseparable.

Mississippian culture and Southeastern people had no writing system like cultures in the Far East. Referring to martial art systems.

Mississippian warriors did not separate “martial technique” from:

• the Three-Tiered cosmos
• ritual obligation
• clan duty
• sacred animals (falcon, serpent, panther)
• the axis of the world

Warriors embodied cosmic principles:

• Falcon Warrior = upper-world, speed, precision, dominance

• Underworld Serpent = chaos, power from the earth, ambush

• Sun / Fire = authority, ritual legitimacy

These weren’t metaphors — they were identity roles, much like samurai or shaolin monk archetypes, but encoded in mythos instead of text.

THE CENTER IS NOT TAUGHT.
THE CENTER IS REMEMBERED.
