THE THINGS YOU DON’T SEE BEHIND THE SCENES OF A BRIDAL MAKEUP ARTIST ✨

You see the makeup…

But there’s SO much more that goes into your wedding morning than you probably realise.

THE PLANNING 📝

Before I even arrive, I’ve already been thinking about your morning.

Your timings.
Your bridal party.
Your location.
Your hair.
Your photos.
Your ceremony time.

Because a relaxed wedding morning doesn’t just happen… it’s planned.

THE KIT PREP 🧴

What you see as “a makeup kit” is actually hours of prep.

Cleaning.
Sanitising.
Restocking.
Decanting.
Sharpening.
Checking products.
Checking them AGAIN.

And making sure I have everything I could possibly need because wedding morning is not the time to realise you’ve run out of your favourite lip liner 😂

THE PRODUCT OBSESSION 👀

I’m constantly testing products.

How does it sit on skin?
How does it photograph?
How does it wear after 8 hours?
Does it work on dry skin?
Oily skin?
Mature skin?

If I’m putting it on a bride, I want to KNOW it works.

THE SKIN PREP ✨

That beautiful bridal glow isn’t just a layer of highlighter.

Understanding your skin and choosing the right prep is such a huge part of what I do.

Because my goal has always been skin that still looks like skin — just beautifully radiant, fresh and perfected.

THE LITTLE THINGS…

This is probably the bit you don’t see on Instagram.

Helping dry the flowers.

Fixing a veil.

Finding the missing earring.

Keeping an eye on the clock.

Making sure you’ve actually eaten something.

Taking a deep breath with you when the nerves kick in.

Sometimes I’m MUA, part-time wedding morning PA and professional calm-down person 😂

THE EMOTIONAL SIDE 🤍

There’s something really special about being invited into such an intimate part of someone’s wedding day.

I see the nerves.
The excitement.
The happy tears.
The “OMG THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING” moments.

And I genuinely LOVE being the person who helps make those few hours feel calm, fun and exciting.

THE CONSTANT LEARNING

Five years into my business and I’m STILL learning.

New techniques.
New formulas.
Different skin types.
Different face shapes.
Different brides.

I never want to stop getting better at what I do.

As the summer draws to a close, I thought it would be a good time to share some of the incredible events we have been part of this summer.

It has been a whirlwind. The weather has been unreal and I have definitely learnt a lot this summer about additional contingency plans and flexing timelines to keep guests and my clients as comfortable as possible.

I also want to say a very big ‘thank you’ to all the incredible suppliers who continuously deliver such a high standard of professionalism and work, it truly means so much to me that you bring your A-game to my clients’ weddings. I know I say this a lot but I genuinely only work with nice people which really does make my job a pleasure.

Enjoy these snippets from the summer - there is so much more to share! Our season is not over yet, a couple more wonderful marquee weddings to go then we shift to party season and finalising plans for our 2027 couples.

Lots of exciting things in the pipelines which will be revealed very soon!

And finally a very big round of applause 👏 to my incredible team - having Charlotte @charlotte_eaevents more involved in the planning as well as the running of events this summer has been epic - we have laughed our way through many crazy situations. Paulina also joined the team this summer and has proved to be a real asset as well.

Photos: Mostly my own while we wait for the professional shots with the exception of some fabulous sneek peeks at the end from @hollyhamblingphotography and @hattie.creative

Kinda becoming my favourite part of a wedding.
Look if you’ve hired me for your wedding day and I find out you have a dog, that dog WILL get illustrated.

This perfect reaction to Maddy and Courtney’s gorgeous little boarder terrier, Olive 🥹

A different style for me, created for my beautiful bride Rachel on her wedding day at Hackney Town Hall ✨

This soft, effortlessly elegant mid-twisted bun combines texture, movement with delicate face-framing tendrils that perfectly complement the relaxed yet refined look. Timeless, modern. 🤍
