Funny thing is: I wrote an article for @mexiconewsdaily about this (I’ll link it in my stories), but some spots have since closed. I don’t share about this often here.

I moved to Mexico in 2020, by accident. An “act of God” closed my very successful restaurant, and I took the advice of a friend to take an overdue vacation.

Six years ago, I said yes to a random one-way trip to Mexico. I almost drowned in the Pacific Ocean. Then I said yes to a street taco and got the worst food poisoning of my life. Then I said yes to Tinder, very reluctantly.

Oops, I accidentally swiped right on my future husband! Eight weeks later, I was pregnant with twins.

That “one-week vacation” turned into six years.

So maybe saying yes doesn’t always make your life easier. Maybe it makes your life bigger.

I might be Your San Miguel Guide, but I’m also very synced with my 🌺 womb wisdom. So if you’re coming to a magical town built atop rose quartz, you may also want to sync your cycle to your activities. I’ve been doing this more with my family trips and it’s a game-changer, ladies!!

A quick guide:

🩸 Follicular Phase (Days 1–13): High estrogen boosts your physical resilience, making it the perfect time for standard, full-intensity hot and cold protocols. Or packed schedules on the road!

🩸 Ovulatory Phase (Days 14–16): Peak hormones maximize your overall stamina and temperature tolerance, allowing you to get the absolute most out of sweat sessions. And contrast therapy. And hikes. You get the idea… I LOVE traveling when I’m ovulating 🥰

🩸 Early Luteal Phase (Days 17–21): Rising progesterone increases your core temperature, so you should taper your protocols down to shorter, milder sessions. This is the first sign your womb is saying slow down… apply it to every way you’re moving through life around this phase.

🩸 Late Luteal Phase (Days 22–28): Dropping hormones increase stress sensitivity, meaning you should skip the cold plunge entirely and stick to gentle, relaxing heat. For those seeking more spiritual experiences in San Miguel, I’d caution against temazcals too around this phase.

🩸 Menstrual Phase (Days 1–5): Your body is already working hard, so prioritize passive warmth to ease cramps and keep any cold dips exceptionally brief. I once did a very intense hike in the pouring rain during my bleed and I would NOT make that mistake again 😂
