No one talks about how much time these videos take 🤣
BUT athletic training is a profession that so many people still don’t understand. So much goes unnoticed. I do want to show the reality of athletic training.

And somewhere in all of that ^ I am a mom and student. Most days are organized and chaotic. So if you watched the recap of my Wednesday, thanks!

I’ll be sharing more

This little day-in-the-life vlog was fun to make, and a lot harder than most make it look! I chose Saturday knowing my kids would be joining me and it was an all-day-affair.

Balancing motherhood and a career is harder than it looks, but I love my job, my kids love coming with me, and thankfully, my job loves my kids.

And nowhere in this day did I even touch my coursework, I loaded my plate heavy on the front end of the week for a reason.

Back at it today working Women’s Lacrosse ✌🏻

I recently saw a quote that said, “What a privilege it is to be exhausted by the life you chose.” And I felt that a little extra yesterday.

Happy Sunday 💃🏻

🦴Happy World Spine Day!🦴

Our spine plays an important role in how we move, perform, and participate in the activities we love. For athletes, taking care of spinal health is an important part of injury prevention, performance, and long-term wellness.

From strength and mobility to proper technique and recovery, small habits can make a big difference in keeping your spine healthy. 💪

As future athletic trainers, our MSAT students are learning how to recognize, evaluate, and respond to injuries-including potentially serious spine injuries-while helping athletes safely return to the activities they love.

This World Spine Day, remember to move well, train smart, recover, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

🦴Your spine supports your every day. Give it the support it deserves!

👀Ever wondered what happens inside an athletic training room?

It’s more than just taping tables and ice bags!

The athletic training room is where athletic trainers and students can evaluate injuries, provide treatments, guide rehabilitation, educate patients, and help athletes stay healthy throughout their season.🩺

For our MSAT students, the athletic training room is also where the classroom knowledge turns into hands-on experience.

From learning new kills to working directly with patients, there’s always something happening behind the scenes!

🏃🩹🧠Welcome to the athletic training room!

🧠💙 World Mental Health Day | October 10
Mental health is an important part of overall health - and that includes the health of our athletes, our patients, our classmates, and ourselves.

As future athletic trainers, we have the opportunity to support the whole person. Sometimes that means recognizing when something has changed, creating a safe space to talk, or knowing when it’s time to connect someone with additional support.

And while we’re learning how to care for others, we can’t forget to care for ourselves. MSAT life can be busy, and prioritizing your own mental well-being is an important part of becoming a healthy and well-rounded healthcare professional.

Today, take a moment to check in - with yourself and with someone around you.💙

You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply asking “How are you really doing?” is a great place to start.

🩺What exactly does an athletic trainer do?

Athletic training is so much more than taping ankles and handing out ice packs! From preventing injuries and evaluating injuries to providing emergency care, rehabilitation, and general medical care, athletic trainers play an important role throughout an athlete’s healthcare journey.

As MSAT students, we’re learning the skills needed to support our patients before, during, and after injury.💪

This October, we’re taking you behind the scenes of athletic training to highlight everything that goes into being an athletic trainer!

👀Stay tuned every Monday to learn more about the profession and what our students are learning along the way.

💚National Recovery Month - Week 5: Recovery is a Journey💚

As National Recovery Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that recovery isn’t defined by one moment - it’s a journey.💚

Whether you’re recovery from an injury, managing your mental well-being, or working toward a personal goal, progress takes time. Some days you’ll take big steps forward, and other days may feel slower. Both are part of the process.

Through your this month, we’ve explored the importance of asking for help, recovery from injury, returning to activity safely, and fueling your body for healing. Together, these habits remind us that recovery isn’t about being perfect - it’s about continuing to move forward.

As further athletic trainers, we’ll have the privilege of guiding others through their recovery journeys. Let’s also remember to extend the same patience, encouragement, and compassion to ourselves.

Every step forward matters.💚

💚National Wellness Month - Week 3: Progressing Safely Back to Activity

Returning to activity after an injury can be exciting - but it’s important to remember that recovery doesn’t happen overnight.

Feeling better doesn’t always mean your body is ready to return to full participation. That’s why following a gradual recovery plan is so important. Building strength, restoring movement, and progressing through each stage of rehabilitation can help reduce the risk of re-injury and set you up for long-term success.

Athletic trainers play an essential role in guiding athletes through each phase of recovery, ensuring they’re physically and mentally prepared to return to the activities they love.

As we continue recognizing National Recovery Month, remember that recovery is a journey, not a race. Trust the process, celebrate your progress, and take each step with confidence.

It’s kinda chic to be a part of the world of athletic training🩹❤️

From clinical days and polos to tape, treatment tables, and everything in between - these are the little things that make the AT student experience at CU-Lock Haven so memorable.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a reminder that hope, connection, and compassion can make a difference.💚

As students, future healthcare professionals, and members of a community, we all have a role in supporting one another. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or encouraging someone to seek help can have a meaningful impact.

Remember to take care of your own mental well-being, too. Asking for help is a sign of strength, and support is available.

If you’re struggling, or if you’re concerned about someone else, don’t wait to reach out. No one has to face life’s challenges alone.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911. In the U.S. and Canada, you can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

💚Let’s continue to build a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.

💚National Recovery Month - Week 2: Injury Recovery Tips

As athletic training students, we know that recovery is about much more than simply waiting for pain to go away. A successful return to activity takes time, consistency, and the right support.

A few reminders for every athlete (and future AT👀):
🏃Don’t rush the process
😴Prioritize quality sleep
🥗Fuel your body with balanced nutrition
💧Stay hydrated
📝Follow your rehab plan consistently

One of the biggest lessons in sports medicine is that healing is not always linear. Some days feel great, others feel frustrating - and that’s normal.

This week, remember: small steps forward are still progress.💚
