POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

loosies + demos + glitches

A special thank you to my friend, production designer @ajholister whose production design is center stage in many of these photos.

Another thank you to both @megan.rochelle.wilson and @mitchtwopoint0 for entertaining my asking of lying on the ground longer and re-hitting the vape for the perfect shot.

Last slide is [an iPhone recording of] a shot I took digitally with the Blackmagic 4K, set purposely to 1080p instead of 4K or higher, shot on a cheap cine lens, later color graded to emulate film, and then actually converted from digital to analog with a CRT TV.

Someone smarter than me probably would’ve split these into separate posts and the last slide into a reel to farm interaction but I personally like everything grouped up like this and this page has never been about likes or followers anyways.

More soon.
Love y’all.
Bye

After an awesome event, and an incredible day exploring Rhode Island I woke up to yet another Festival win. Boneyards has won its second award for Best Short Film @parisfilmawards . I can’t even find the words to describe how this makes me feel. This project has been in my bones for nearly a decade, countless rewrites, multiple reshoots, and for all of that hard work to be recognized is just incredibly humbling. Thank you to my amazing team and all of those who’ve believed in and supported me over the years in bringing this project to life. This is to you! Cheers

all photos shot by Christian James Nguyen ( @croissantwynnfilm ), minus parts of slide 17 and slide 18

The road to completion for this project has been a hell of a ride, and we’re technically still not done (editing, color grading, some additional photography for promotional material), but the fun stuff’s all over for now.

Special thank you to a great collaborator and a better friend, Payson ( @hawk_9904 ). Funny enough, when Payson approached me to work on this new passion project (initially solely as BTS photo+video), I actually gave him a tentative “no,” even though I liked the script, because I didn’t think I could afford to take any days off of work. My gut told me that, financial crisis aside, I gave the wrong answer. By that point, we had worked together many times, but we had yet to collaborate as producers. I called him some weeks later and said I’d take the time off if I could produce this new project with him, and I also told him his graphic designer – or lack of one – sucked (this actually happened lol), and that I’d really like to lead the film’s visuals in some capacity.

Thank you for entrusting me with as much as you have, Payson.

Here’s a token of my affection to the cast and crew of Project Static.

Love y’all

(and yes, i gave up on tagging everybody LOL)

Blood on my hands & dirt on my knees.

A Bob Brewer story.

We shot this proof-of-concept trailer in Savannah, Georgia, a city with the history, grit, and scenery to bring this world to life.

But this is only the beginning.

Excited to bring the full feature to life soon.

A story for the ages…

A Blooming Doom

a full frame, textless version of Endera’s ( @enderamusic ) new album cover | photographed, edited, and colored by yours truly, Christian James Nguyen ( @croissantwynnfilm )

(each slide’s caption is a little to a lot different, containing info about other collaborators on this album, where to buy a physical copy, etc.)

Ever since I was a kid and flunked out of violin classes I knew, without any hard feelings, that music was definitely not my strong suit. Nevertheless, music follows almost every facet of my artistic journey, and I’ve been lucky enough to channel my strengths to assist musicians in other ways, whether that be through helping write lyrics or shooting music videos. And as an author and photographer, I also knew the value of having a tangible piece (books, photo prints, etc). When Jeremy ( @thewareure ) from Endera reached out to me to make their album cover and told me it’d be printed to vinyl and CD, it was a resounding YES from me.

I’m thrilled to present my work in book form, now vinyl and CD, and (spoilers?) Blu-ray/DVD/VHS next.

Swipe thru to see some more goods. Love y’all.
