I distinctly remember this class as it was one of my first lyrical w @royalrykah and my goodness was it a dream. As soon as I heard the song I instantly connected to it intertwining both those feelings @sabrinaclaudio is singing about with the movement given at hand, the product of those two is pure deliciousness 🤌🏽 My heart fell in love with lyrical + rykah & her flow of movement 😌🍃🌀 I hope you enjoy this magical moment I’m choosing to share with you since I’ve kept to myself for so long and keep your eyes out for future vids I’ll be dropping from the vault ☺️ Location 📍 : @robsdancebrisbane Studio 🏠: @theclubhouse.bne Teacher 🧠 : @royalrykah Filming 🎥 : @hellocourtney__ @courtneychoreography Dancer 💃🏼 : Yourstruely @hazedance_ Song 🎶 : Natural @sabrinaclaudio

l’ve had this one saved in my drafts for quite some time 😅 I kinda forgot it was there, kinda unsure wether I wanted to share and kinda really didn’t care. And if you know me you know that I really don’t care about too much for sharing much on socials let alone my dance vids. Nothing against it at all I think I just get in these moments where I’m just on grid but off it at the same time & in a world where everything’s constantly changing moving and on the go I feel having to keep up with my online social life takes a bit of a toll and a lot of energy that if I’m being quite honest I don’t really have. Some could say it’s a missed opportunity but to me I don’t feel as though l’m missing out on anything. If something is meant to be it will be. Being so overally involved with everything and everyone can be extremely draining for me which is why I will have to go into hibernation to decompress and revitalise myself at times. Also just because the world itself can be very overstimulating. Being an Omnivert life can be very tricky but it’s knowing when I need to give myself that time to reflect and recharge is what gets me through. Also looking back I did this class earlier this year in April. It was the start of me being able to someone consistently take classes 6 months post major surgery. And when I reflect from then to now I am so unbelievably proud of me. Where I am, what I am able to achieve but also everything I have achieved back then too. I’m SO proud of myself and I’m excited to see what’s instore in the following months to come!!! #watchthisspace 😌 Location 📍 : @hbmthestudio Studio 🏠: @hbmthestudio Teacher 🧠: @ebonychoreography Filming 🎥 : @afterclass_recordz Dancer 💃🏼 : Yourstruely @hazedance_ Song 🎶 : White Tee @summerwalker @no1

So I decided to share this today because I needed to remind myself of what I can achieve. Theres moments where I was too fast, there’s moments where my brain just stopped but no matter what I’m still absolutely proud because I did that. Ngl was a push but i did that! 👏🏼👏🏼Oh yeah n I wrote a lil poem as well. ☺️ ~ Body I watch this & see a girl who’s been fighting for her place in this world. A girl who has persevered Who’s not let the weight of the trauma anchor her down Who not let the pain her body endured control her A girl who deserves her moment I watch this & see a girl who’s been fighting No one but herself will ever know just how much. I am proud of my body for what it accomplishes. ~ Please remember to always be kind. To yourself, to others & to Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) ✨🦋🍃 Location📍: @danceheadquarters Studio🏠: @goldcoastelite_ Teacher 🧠: @gce_kurtis Filming🎥: @lalaur.aaa Dancer 💃🏼: @hazedance_ x @hazeleey_ Song🎶 : Schoolin’ Life - @beyonce

I have many many maaaaany vids which I not posted and kept all to myself 😈 cause I mean I y’all weren’t ready for all of dis bahaha na cause genuinely I didn’t ever feel the need to post them. I went and go to dance for me and me alone. I never judge those that do post though, if anything I’m all for it like seriously Geddddit sis‼️‼️But I must admit going through the battles I’ve been fighting this year, mentally & physically, at some point watching and dancing and recording myself was just not it 😔. I started to critique everything about myself instead of being in and enjoying ‘the moment’. My anxieties started to creep in and although once before where it was needed to keep me safe we’re no longer required and I started to loose sight of my own personal purpose for dance. Don’t get me wrong I am no longer in that headspace and I’m doing a lot better now 🥰 (just bored at home recovering post surgery 🥲) but just know there were many many times throughout this year where I just was not and didn’t feel like me. The fully authentic Hazel that is 😽 The best sort of advice that I could give someone who if maybe feeling this sorta way. Take a step back and look and ask yourself. Why am I feeling this way? What is this trying to tell me? Or even just take this as a reminder to CHILL TF OUT 👏🏼👏🏼 (coming from me yup 😅 iykyk). As addicting as it is, dancing week in and out definitely takes its toll on you one way or another. Recognising this and having a breather shows actually just how great a dancer and individual you really are (personally that’s what I think anyways) because you are allowing yourself the space and time to BREEEEEATH! 😮‍💨💨🥰. It doesn’t mean your never going to go back, although some may choose that, dance and the dance community will still be there when you feel it’s time to jump back in 😇…… please see comments for rest of caption.
