This week’s #drawonhalton prompt has been school. I came across this very happy young chap on his way to school from Norton Priory area from the Halton Heritage Partnership website. After creating an illustration of the photograph digitally and adding my hand painted fabric for back ground I inverted the image to create a #cyanotype print on paper and fabric. I’ve really enjoyed playing with this printing technique I would love to see how my embroidery designs will work on top of the print.

So this weeks #drawonhalton prompt is Library. Now Libraries (particularly Halton Libraries) have been a huge part of my life. From visiting them with my family as a child, delving into worlds hidden in books. To working in them for over 13 years from the age of 16. I will will always have a soft spot in my heart for libraries and while this #cyanotype of the old Runcorn Library is no longer open as a library it still holds special memories to me.

I created this piece in collaboration with @crpittdesigns

Bird No. 3 Goldfinch - I’ve chosen this gorgeous little bird for my third bird as I saw what may possible be my first one ever outside of Hazlehurst Studios and then again later in the week with a friend. I really hope there is a nest near by and I might see them again!

The fabric I use is all #handpainted on large pieces I really enjoy picking out which part to use for my designs.

This weeks #drawonhalton has been a #collaboration with @crpittdesigns really enjoyed playing with the technique of #cyanotype. We found the coin on Halton Heritage Partnership website. The tokens were issues by the Widnes Workmen Public House and could be exchanged for a non alcoholic drink. This was to encourage teetotalism in Widnes workmen.
