Sponsor + Teacher Spotlight: Healing Light Studios ✨
I’m excited to welcome Healing Light Studios to Barefoot & Free this year. This is exactly the kind of work I love bringing into the woods — feminine, embodied, healing, powerful, and also full of joy.
Founder Jessina Mehu will be leading Goddess Somatic Alchemy™ on Saturday from 12:30–2:00 in Fairy Glen / Yoga Tent.

This is a trauma-informed women’s experience blending Kundalini breathwork, movement, mantra, meditation, energy work, and intuitive dance.

It’s for the woman who is ready to come back into her body, release what she’s been holding, remember her voice, and reconnect with the Divine Feminine within.
And you know I love this reminder: healing does not always have to be heavy. Sometimes we breathe, we move, we laugh, we dance, we remember.
Come as you are. Let the woods hold you. Let your body lead you home.

So grateful to have Healing Light Studios as part of this year’s festival. Go give them some love:

@healing_light_studios

- don’t forget bring 3 newbies this year and you are invited to the VIP sanctuary 🤩✨✨✨✨✨

It’s hard to find the words to explain the gratitude I feel seeing this little bubble on the wall at LACASA. But I’ll try.

When I started Inspired Ascend, I knew one thing for certain: I wanted to be able to hold the hand of others as they navigated dark and uncertain times. What I didn’t know then was just how many different ways that would become possible.

@girldinner.mi has created something unique. It’s a space that holds women exactly as they are. There is no pressure to dress up. No aesthetic to fit. No expectation to bring anything but yourself. And while we charge a small fee to attend, what we’ve witnessed is the beauty of individuals in seasons of abundance stepping up to support others—so there is always a seat for every woman at the table.

From the very first event, I knew something meaningful was happening.
65 women walked into a room as strangers and stood up—each in their own way—for a shared purpose.

We cried.
We laughed.
We snacked.
We made it onto the wall.

And somewhere in between all of that, we created a community.

What a night 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the very first Girl Dinner — and to all who donated, supported, and helped make this event such a beautiful success.

Your generosity directly supports the mission of LACASA Center, helping survivors of abuse find safety, healing, and hope.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible speakers for sharing their voices and to @theivytable for hosting such a warm, welcoming evening rooted in community and care.

Together, we proved just how powerful connection and compassion can be. 💫

Happy baby pose, or Ananda Balasana. To me this pose can feel like a hug, pulling the knees into the side bodies by holding the feet.
Recently I am dealing with a lower back injury- resulting in my typical vinyasa-based personal practice to transform into much more of a restorative practice. This is a large change for me. Change can often be difficult and at times bring us to a place of discomfort.
Happy baby pose is one that has always brought me comfort. While stretching out the spine and opening the hips, this dynamic pose always brings a smile to my face. As my yoga practice changes, I am reminded that sometimes the most healing part of my practice is remembering to smile and laugh; like a happy baby would.
