~11/23/2020 ~ 730 days~

An estimated 15 million people struggle with an alcohol use disorder in the United States, but less than 10% of them receive treatment. While recovery rates are less than 36% for those with a severe or lifetime alcohol dependence.

2 years ago today, wasn’t the day you realized something had to change. It wasn’t the first time you looked at yourself in disappointment. It’s not the day that everything miraculously changed for you. However, 730 days ago is the day you began a lifelong journey and battle to take control of your life while placing yourself first, creating the life you deserve. 730 days ago you moved halfway across the country. You became a business owner. You found a partner that supports you and tries to understand your struggles. While I watch you redefine your life, I see that you’re not content, I see how badly you want greatness, and if I could bet on one person, it would be you.

Here’s to you, Javier🖤 ~730~

Have you ever thrown away a piece of paper and realized you needed it later? Yeah well I did that with my life a few times. In 58 days I will be 2 years sober✨

I envisioned this life for myself for so long.. I am beyond grateful for the financial stability that bartending brought me, for the people I was lucky enough to meet and grow my network with and the lessons I learned along the way. Bartending is a lifestyle, one that can easily turn your life upside down if you aren’t careful and conscious of what you want out of life.

When I got sober I made a promise to myself to focus on building and growing my own business so I didn’t have to torture myself being in this industry for too much longer. In May this year, I opened my own salon and shortly after realized I could not keep dealing with the drama, chaos and the back breaking crazy hours of the bartending and still successfully chase my dreams of being an entrepreneur. So I jumped. I was absolutely terrified to leave a steady and almost guaranteed $5k-$7k a month but I knew if I was truly passionate and happy about where I was going with my life.. that amount would be chump change in compared to what I can make when my mental health is at its best because I’m doing what I love.

Almost 5 months into my salon and I am officially making a full time income already.. let this be your sign to make that jump you have been afraid of. The best advice I ever heard was what if it could turn out better than you can imagine? Never be realistic about the things you want in life and always chase it with your whole heart.
