Greetings!!
.
.
Here is a quick snippet of my latest partnership with @voiceofpurpose.education and @phoenixsun.vop! 🙏🏾👑🔥🔥🔥
.
.
They hired me (@heartorgto) on to the project to hold down the 'Toronto Hub' at the YorkU space in J&F - for the Toronto residents to gather and grow together through the process!
.
.
This program consisted of working artists of many backgrounds from around the globe!! From Toronto, Vancouver (and other parts in CAN), USA, and all the way to New Zealand!! 🤩🙏🏾✨✨✨
.
.
This was an amazing experience for me, because I was chosen for who I am...like, exactly whooo I am - as a being within the spectrum of beings. It was an honor to be recognized in such a way - so, to VOP I send my sincerest thank you's for being seen for the light I bring to community (and beyond 💗)
.
.
Also, a special shout out to the monster TO talent @lesisha for being a ride or die and coming through every week with ample EQ, coachability and liveliness!! May Jah guide you through to your greatest endeavors, my friend! 🫡🤗💯

HEARt* Radio Mixtape Pt. 1 (circa 2023) 🔥🔥🔥
.
.
In the last phase of a 13-week hybrid project, this is a few of us in a live-jam sesh rehearsal, before the participants' upcoming stage performances just days away...
.
.
Here we are getting ready and having fun before their (awesomely) big day!! 🥰🤗
.
.
Shouts to @phoenixsun.vop for holding it down with the guidance and funding opportunities here - and to @themadhatteroffact on the drums (most likely), @sam_is_sappy on the gee-tar (most likely, lol), and @itsojonugwa joining me on the mic + @narley_media for his dedicated documentation skills!!
.
.
Cheers to the wonderfilled times then & the beautifully, abundant, creatively-expressive, wonderful times ahead...* 🫡💯👑✨✨✨

Greetings Vurld...
.
.
I want to share something that fits the theme of the eve...something that just happened to me... ❤️👑✨✨✨
.
.
I was looking for something specific to eat and the store that makes this dish was closing...as I was headed back home, I noticed a restaurant that I've never eaten at before...but I thought, even though the culture is kind of different, they may have a similar option...
.
.
I told the owner what I wanted and she suggested something larger, I said I have never had this so I'll build up to it another time... 🫡 while I was waiting, she came to me with a plate - told me what it was and pulled a piece of the roti-like bread, scooped up the food with one gentle hand, and blessed it before she fed me some...(I'm very conscious about that sorta thing - after all we just met, and I'ma gentleman 😉😭)
.
.
...There's a love that I'm learning to receive these days. It's not forced, it's not arbitrary, it doesn't come with an agenda...it's pure and from the heart! I can feel it, discernment is key to carry forth in this new era of my life. Jah guides the way and my father always has my back! 💯🙏🏾🙏🏾
.
.
This video is a testament to all the purity I've experienced this year, all the things that bring me joy when I look at it (even silly pics that just make me laugh 😂). I've always had a hard time receiving love - in many ways - I think I'm starting to recognize what love actually is (and I'm starting to get the hang of it!)
.
.
Happy New Year...*

Check this edit/clip from the previous #ògotàwaexpo
this year. I shared a lot on loss and redemption that night, really diving deep into authentic personal stories that are part of my spirit and soul experience.
.
.
Essentially, this is what @heartorgto is at its core. It's about personal authentic expression of our own stories. Using music and art as a way to catalyze a new path in our own lives, and build our sense of spiritual well-being and self-love; creating space for positive release.
.
.
I'm grateful to receive all of the blissings in my life!! Grateful for all that I've received from others that are no longer a part of my life/journey, or that have moved on from this realm...may creator i-tinually guide us through and through the shadows into light. ✨✨✨

Greetings Vurld!! 🙏🏽
.
.
Here's an addition to the project I recently accomplished! 💯
.
.
The school had no facilities for recording, so the VP and I came up with a plan that would work for the space that was available - and voila!! 🤩✨✨✨
.
.
This had the youth buzzing and everything came out sounding 🔥🔥🔥 !!
.
.
Giving thanks for beauty in all forms. Tis only the beginning, it seems...*

Superrr-blissed this year to engage in a dope music creation project with elementary youth, guiding them throughout this process and really stepping up in terms of mentorship, teaching, coaching, and my own creative capacity. 💯🙏🏽
.
.
I love working with youth. They get it. They're open to being silly (like meee 🙃) and fulljoying life as it comes - finding ways to create something from nothing and dream big! ❤️‍🔥
.
.
@educatorsonemic @needsomekoi I'm grateful to you both for the pass, and allowing me the space to fully do my thing!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽✨✨🦋🦋
.
.
Soaring to new heights, I do not forget my 'why' in this life, fam. Nor does a day go by without the plight of the people in my heart (light as a feather, heavy as led)...Ergo, I create a world within the world to help alleviate suffering, using these skills and gifts, to help others stand in their light - one heart, mind, and soul at a time...* #jahlove

So proud of these humans for their growth in capacity and the sharing in this sacred and essential space...🔥🔥🔥
.
.
Being a part of something this innovating was especially heart-warming for me...as it allowed me to grow as an artist and arts educator - while empowering others in their passions and purpose, too! 🙏🏽🙏🏽💯
.
.
Again, big shout out to everyone involved! May the journey i-tinually be fruitful for you on the road to becoming who you're meant to be...* 🦋🦋🦋

Here's a #flashbackfriday vibe, doing rehearsal sessions with the finalists for the HEARt* Festival back in 2016/17 and filmed by the awesome @narley_media 👑
.
.
First, we all ran through songs a couple times to get them right for the stage. We then got into some dope freestyling/beatboxing cyphers. Shout out to everyone who gathered in those unforgettable moments. 💯
.
.
Good times and God willing more to come. HEARt* is definitely a place for people to be surrounded by 'heartical' souls working towards something positive to share with the rest of the community. this to bring forth awareness of what's actually happening in the hearts and minds of the youth and elders around us...* 🙏🏽🦋

Sharing in this space was so fun - I look forward to what's to come! We were in our element when we we're learning together, sharpening our skills and growing out of our comfort zone. 🔥🔥

Thanks again for everything...* 🙏🏾👑💯

Since October of last year to this March, I've been a part of a team that has seen the potential of HEARt* (my org) with intentions to help me build-up and structure an even stronger foundation for the organization.
.
.
@voiceofpurpose.education alongside @artstartsto hired me as an Arts Educator and Co-Researcher to develop a project that served the new online world we are facing. Through these learnings, I've created something fit for online, but also implemented it as an in-person, 'hybrid' approach.
.
.
With a lot of hard-work and dedication from the youth who've completed the project and the members of my team who've dedicated their time to give back and help guide them through the creative process - they're all high-key the reason why everything went so awesomely!! 🙏🏾🤗💯
.
.
Everyone who supported this process - all the orgs, people, and spaces - were pertinent to the success of this 8-10 week, online/in-person, youth-based music intensive of self-love, musical exploration and healing.
.
.
I call it the 'HEARt* Radio Mixtape Project' 🎵🎶✨
