$Pittsburgh is really close to Greg’s hometown, so we used Joe’s show as an opportunity to visit family at the same time. It was a win-win. What I didn’t expect was for this to be my favorite show of the Freedom tour so far. The acoustics were perfect. Joe and Sean were meant to perform this way. The way Joe sang was cathartic and Sean filled that church with the most amazing sounds. Dream team. I really, really, really liked the unplugged versions of Is Anybody Out There and Until Tomorrow. The way Sean played the piano for Please Don’t Go Girl was mind blowing, and I loved the shoutout that Joe gave to Maurice Starr when it was over. Joe purposefully made connections with so many fans during Own This Town and it was so beautiful to watch. And I was so happy to hear I Got It Made again. She, Super Girl, and Miracle are all such brilliant songs. Dare I say perfect songs? Of course I cried during Easier and Stay. And that is only a fraction of the good things we heard last night. We were entertained by Joe and Sean’s thoughts on people sweating in church. We heard motivational stories about why you should follow through on your good ideas. We heard about Joe’s dad and uncles and how proud he is of the legacy they left behind. I chatted with my Braveheart and Blockhead friends, all of whom I adore, and some of whom I met in person for the first time. Thank you to my dear friend Nikki for helping me get tickets when I was literally “off the grid” with no cell service when they went on sale. I am really feeling blessed to experience all of this.
