I’ll probably choose wooden furniture over almost anything else. Antique pieces, vintage finds, something newly made or even a new piece designed to look like it’s been around for decades. Wood just brings a warmth and character that’s hard to replace.

The grain, the little imperfections, the way it ages and slowly picks up marks from being used. It makes a room feel more lived-in without trying too hard. Maybe it’s a little old-fashioned, but honestly, that’s exactly why I like it.

What’s something you’d love to find at the thrift store?

My thrift list is a living document, ever evolving with my whims. Right now my main focus is on redecorating my living room. Although I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for any unique piece these are some of the things I’m looking for at the thrift lately.

Quilts - this is an item that never really leaves my thrift list. Harder and harder to find now but every once in a while I spy a little quilt peeking out from the fabric rack.

Cabbage ware - I’ve never successfully thrifted cabbage ware but I dream of the day I find a stack of green plates or bowls on the shelves for my hutch at home

Folk art - bonus points if it’s a wooden animal of some sort, double bonus points if it serves a function in my home (see my folk art cat mirror, one of my most treasured thrifted items). And I love anything with painted folk motifs

Curtains - this is a new addition to the thrift list. I’m looking for something heavier duty and higher quality for the winter in our living room. Thinking plaid or tartan in dark moody colors. Hopeful I can find something at the thrift store because so far I haven’t found anything I like online

&

The perfect tv hutch - this is my white whale. My perfect item. I’ve been scouring Facebook marketplace for something like this (it doesn’t need to be pine) for less than $300 that will hide my tv, serve as extra storage, be an extra spot to display my treasures, and be a gorgeous focal point to our living room. So far I’ve gotten close but not perfect. Extra points if I can find something with those gorgeous rounded pedestal feet.

What’s something you’d love to find at the thrift store?

〰️Recent saves as inspiration〰️

Forged iron and sculptural pewter, sleek stone alongside pine furniture and carved wood accents. The textural richness of paintings, the woven intricacies of tapestries, the subtle glint of glass.

It’s these juxtapositions—brutalist touches meeting warmth and history—that inspired my upcoming collection. Moments like these belong everywhere: layered on a mantle, styled bedside, or adding soul to a powder room.

The full edit drops tomorrow, Friday, 9/19—stay tuned ✨

Newly arrived Antique Pine Armoire from @heatherfelix_ deserves its own post. It’s the next step in finishing my guestroom & office.

The detail of the antique pine is *chef’s 💋
This is the view from my desk.

I’m going to attempt to put the room together this weekend and post pics.

I should mention that Armoire is FULL of French antiques. I don’t buy much that doesn’t get used in our little farmhouse and my storage closet was full.

As much as the outside of the armoire is gorgeous, the inside is useful and I think you might faint if you saw the goodies stored in there 😏
