Thanks to my wife @heatherjustcreate for the awesome new photos!

After 9+ years, this is the first time I’ve had photos for my YouTube channel that I didn’t take myself. Usually it’s me spending a lot of time setting up self timers or scrubbing through lots of awkward video to find something that works (and trust me, the “no” pile is A LOT bigger than the “maybe” pile).

Heather had a specific idea of something she wanted to try for new photos. She said that she wanted to show the side of me she loves (I still can’t believe that exists, but I’m very lucky it does 😉). Her goal was to share more of the fun and personality behind my YouTube videos, which is something that’s really hard to do on my own. I tend to get caught up in the details and the products/topics more than anything.

It definitely felt super strange to be the one being directed in front of a camera, but thank you for helping me share more of myself!

Worlds colliding! After 800 videos, this was the first time I’ve ever rented a location for a video. I’ve been working on this one for a while now and there’s still a ways to go, but a huge thank you to @yololivtech for helping to make this possible. I never really thought hockey and YouTube would merge like this, but it’s been such a fun project! A/V gear and ice hockey is a very fun combination.

It’s one thing to talk about what a tool can do (in this case, multi camera sports broadcasting with the YoloBox Extreme), but it’s another to see it in action. And that wasn’t something I could do on my own, so a huge thank you to @heatherjustcreate for being the best co director ever and for making sure to catch a lot of fun behind the scenes footage! And another massive thank you to everyone who came out to play hockey and have some fun so that we’d have a real game to use for the video!

Ok, now time to edit a mountain of footage…

Session 9 of Leadership Coachella Valley 🎙️📰📲 Media & Communications Day | 5.15.26

We gathered at College of the Desert and spent the day hearing from so many incredible speakers across media, communications, leadership, and storytelling — it was another favorite day, but I know I keep saying that 😅

Hearing from Brad Fuhr about the power of radio and learning that radio is actually more effective than even social media. Can you believe that?! Radio isn’t going anywhere thankfully and with a voice like Brad’s, you’ll want to listen to KGAY if you don’t already 🎙️

We also heard from Heather Ramirez and Tom Buck — YouTube creators, podcasters, streamers, LeadershipCV alumni… and they’re married?! How cute is that❣️

I really appreciated the conversations around leadership communication from Dr. Kelly May-Vollmar and Tamara Wadkins — especially how important honesty and transparency are within organizations and communities.

One of the coolest parts of the day was hopping on the bus to NBC Palm Springs and KESQ for behind-the-scenes tours of their stations — I really can’t pick what the best part of the day was, but this is high on my list!

We wrapped up at Palm Desert Library hearing from local leaders across news, media, philanthropy, and AI, which felt like the perfect way to end a day centered around communication and connection!

Thank you, Jenny Lynn, for inspiring our giraffe 🦒 duck quest at Dave & Buster’s 😆 After much persistence and some creative claw-machine strategy, our team of 5 got the giraffe duck and a few bonus ducks too! Great souvenirs from a great day❣️

today was my first time picking up a jump rope in 5 months, since my life changing health struggles began.

months of inactivity due to crippling fatigue
of trying different medications, dosages, supplements, and treatment plans
of grieving the loss of my old body and accepting an unrecognizable new one

so many times, i wasn’t sure whether to give up hope or just accept a new normal.

and finally, today, i felt good enough to pick up my rope, put on some jams, and just dance 💃

and YOOOOOOOO. I AM HER AND SHE STILL GOT IT 🤩🔥👏✨🥳💜

i’ve lost all my stamina and im already sore 😝 but ahhhhh it felt so good to jump again ☺️☺️ it was SO, so FUN and i’m so grateful to be moving again 💜

the entire level, i had been telling the HJP team about this lady that was just standing in hallways, stalking me and looking at me. and right when i thought i was safe in the comfort of our ship, she took me out… and no one saw a thing. turns out this enemy only shows to ONE PLAYER the entire level. no one knew what i was talking about. they didn’t even see how i died 💀 i’ve never been so bamboozled by a video game in my life 😝 that was insane.
