Past the boxwood-framed entry, down a flagstone path through soft grasses, out to a sitting area with a stacked stone wall curving around it, and white blooms along the house. Where would you wander first?

As you stroll through Historic Downtown Clinton during The Clinch River Antique Festival, take a look around. The beautiful streetscape beneath your feet and the landscape surrounding you are part of a transformation made possible by talented people who understand that great places are about more than construction—they’re about community.

We’re proud to recognize Ardurra and @hedstrom_la as sponsors of this year’s Clinch River Antique Festival and, even more importantly, as partners who helped bring our downtown vision to life.

Ardurra works alongside clients and communities, bringing fresh thinking and proven expertise to create infrastructure solutions people rely on every day.

Hedstrom Landscaping, an award-winning boutique design firm, creates spaces that are beautiful, thoughtful and mindful of their context.

For Clinton, that meant creating a streetscape that respects the character and history of our downtown while making room for its future.

The Scout Guide is not designed for the scroll. It is designed for the coffee table, the welcome basket, the waiting room, for the year it spends being picked up again and again long after the moment it was made for has passed.

In a region that builds on trust instead of trends, print matters. We believe in creating something tangible, intentional and lasting. As a trusted source to discover the best of our local businesses, we don’t chase what’s new, we celebrate what’s worth keeping.

Made to be held. Not swiped past.

As we reflect on the spaces that hold meaning in our communities, French Broad Veterans Memorial Park stands out as a reminder of what collaboration can build.

Thank you to Legacy Parks Foundation and every organization, donor, and volunteer who helped bring this project to life. Through numerous dedicated partnerships, we were able to create a park that honors our veterans and highlights the beauty of East Tennessee’s landscape. #BetterCommunitiesByDesign #ETCDC #LegacyParks #FrenchBroadVeteransMemorialPark #KnoxvilleTN #CivicPartnerships

We can’t stop talking about our new trees and plants downtown! Each tree was intentionally selected by landscaper @hedstrom_la to carefully enhance the downtown experience. Shumard oaks and willow oaks develop broad canopies that provide shade for pedestrians, outdoor dining areas and parked cars (yup, there’s still parking on Market Street). They compliment historic architecture and create an inviting streetscape. Forest pansy redbuds offer striking fall foliage and vibrant spring blooms, adding seasonal interest and color. All three species are native or well-adapted to the southeast and reflect the natural heritage of the region.

There’s more to come this week as we move closer to the end of downtown construction.

One of our favorite planting combinations from this Sequoyah Hills property.

Masses of George Tabor azaleas paired with creeping phlox create a soft layer of pink that stands out against the deep greens of the surrounding landscape.

It’s a simple combination, but one that delivers color, texture and impact year after year.
